Tina's POV:
Twenty missed calls are on my phone the next morning. I kept it on silent, and I'm glad I did. There's only two texts to accompany the phone calls from Jimmy Jr.
Jimmy Jr:
Babe hey where are you? I've been looking all over for you in the hotel. Amy won't even talk to me. I'm sorry Tina, sweetie pie. I want to make it up to you.
Jimmy Jr:
Amy just told me you left. That you flew back home and are telling your parents I assaulted you? Tina you KNOW that's not true. You're my girlfriend. I love you. You're being stupid. Please just call me. You are my world.
I take a deep breath before replying.
Tina:
We're done, Jimmy. You cheated on me and assaulted me. I'll never forgive you for that. And if I'm your world, then why would you treat me this way?
Tina:
I gave you the world but you wanted the universe.
Jimmy Jr:
Tina come on. You don't mean that. Call me.
Tina:
I'm not calling you. And I never want to speak to you again. If I see you at all this summer, I'll punch you in your dumb face. And when school starts up again, you better believe I'm giving you the silent treatment.
At that point, I block his number. It feels good, and I honestly didn't expect to feel so free after ridding myself of those chains.
The first thing I do after getting dressed is make a pot of fresh coffee. Making it the way he likes, I leave a note for Dad.
Made you breakfast to thank you for being awesome. I love you.
-Tina
It doesn't take me long to make a simple eggs and toast breakfast, complete with a small bowl of fruit on the side. He's going to love this.
I know he's been sad with me gone, and learning of my abuse made him devastated, so I want to show him I appreciate him.
I go downstairs and help open the restaurant. Dad isn't even awake yet.
I grab the keys for the front door, and begin tidying up, sweeping the floor and making sure it's clean.
I wipe the countertops, the grill, and the tables, though they didn't need much cleaning. Dad must have cleaned last night after closing.
It looks better now, and I'm sure Dad will love it.
Doing the usual prep, I slice tomatoes, lettuce, and all of the other ingredients we might need.
I should write a burger of the day.
"Let's Give 'Em Something Shiitake 'Bout Burger"
(This was in an episode but let's pretend it's new)
I think dad will be proud of that one. So of course, I prepare the shiitake mushrooms, excited for him to see my pun.
I don't know how he does this every day. It took me forever to think of that one.
Once everything is done, I flip the sign on the front door to show that we're open.
It's still early, so I can't imagine it'll get too busy.
