Tina's POV:

For the first few days, my cast itches. But I soon get used to it, even if it is really hot.

Louise and Gene have signed it, along with Amy, Susmita, and Zeke. People with broken limbs become very popular. My cast is full of signatures from kids I barely know from school.

I don't mind. It's nice. I don't always really like attention, so it's a bit nerve racking, but I deal with it.

Zeke sent me another bouquet today, and another note full of apologies. I understand why he feels badly, but I wish he wouldn't.

I've called him, but he's withdrawn and sad on the phone, stating that he doesn't want to hurt me again.

I insist that he is my superhero, but I'm sure he must feel like the villain right now.

I do convince him to come back and work, but he keeps his distance. I can't work with just one working arm, so I couldn't be in the kitchen to help him, even if I want to.

I'm pretty much useless at the restaurant. Until my arm heals, Dad says I can stay inside the apartment.

The doctor said it could take up to eight weeks for this damn thing to heal. It already seems better, and I'm apparently lucky it wasn't worse.

Zeke's dad got fined, and is serving six months in jail. It's barely enough, but it was proved that he not only hurt me, but Zeke and the rest of his family.

So for six months, I can breathe a little easier. I'm glad Zeke is away from that monster. Even if it doesn't last forever.

Hearing a knock on my door, I assume it's dad and just give an exasperated groan in response.

"That's no way to greet your superhero!" Zeke calls on the other side of the door.

"Oh! Come in!" I chime happily.

He walks in, seeing me in my pajamas. Just faded pink sweatpants and a tank top.

"How've you been?" Zeke asks delicately, sitting next to me on my bed.

"Fine." I shrug. Without realizing, I lean my head on his shoulder. Just like I used to do with Jimmy Jr.

Zeke plays with my hair as we sit in silence, glancing at the bracelet on my bedside table.

Jimmy Jr's gift.

"Why do you keep it?" He asks.

"Oh...I don't really know." I answer. That's not entirely true. I guess it's just me wanting him back. Me wishing things were different.

I like the idea of having him back, but if I did have him, I don't think it would work out for long.

Maybe in another life.

Grabbing the bracelet, I hand it to Zeke. "Do what you think I should do with it." I tell him. He grins slightly.

"So...burn it until it melts to nothing?" He suggests. I nod.

He puts it in his pocket, seeing if I'll get dressed and join him somewhere.

"Where?"

"Well that's the point, Tina. It's a surprise. A fun one." He teases.

He lets me change, and I get dressed in jean shorts and a cute blouse. Zeke looks me up and down, blushing.

"You look..."

"Disgusting?" I finish for him. He rolls his eyes.

"Adorable." He corrects me.

After confirming it's okay with my parents, I follow him, having no clue where he's taking me.
