Chapter 6 The Herald

A/N: *Sitting on the couch looking extremely annoyed*

You were having a rather odd dream... If you can call it that as you were standing in the middle of a road that was covered in a thin layer of ash as were the buildings around you.

(Y/N): Where am I?

You said out loud and you looked around what appears to be a decimated city from some sort of blast and you noticed several strange human silhouettes seemingly burned into the ground.

(Y/N): What in the world?

After you said that you felt something strange... It was as if something was silently calling you and you began to look around and spot a seemingly untouched card just down the road " That's strange... Was that always there? " You thought as you walked down the road towards the immaculate card and when you reached the card it was face down and the first thing you noticed about the card was an intricate design of a raven on the back of the card " Huh well that seems... Strange. " You thought as you bent down to pick it up, however before you were able to pick up that card it suddenly flipped over which you found odd as there was no wind " This is getting weirder than I thought. " You mentally stated as you looked at the face of the card to see an illustration of an arrow pointing up a road.

(Y/N): "Go down the road?"

You quietly said allowed and as if on cue a strong gust of wind blows the card down the road into the gray fog and once that happened the wind dissipated until it was completely gone.

(Y/N): Well it's not like I got anything left to lose.

You said to yourself as you began to walk down the road seemingly entering the gray fog... Of Ash.

Meanwhile...

Chibi A/N: Man that got weird! Right A/N?

*Chibi A/N looked around to see A/N had mysteriously vanished.*

Chibi A/N: A/N? Are you there?

*There was nothing but silence.*

Chibi A/N: Uh... Well, I'll go look for A/N while you guys continue to read the story! *Nervous chuckle*

Adam and John made it to a nearby alleyway that connected to the maintenance tunnels.

John: Ok we should be safe for the time being.

He said while catching his breath and Adam look at him with a mix of confusion and intrigue.

Adam: How did you do that?
