Promised

Draco POV (a few days later)

I noticed Pansy and Blaise along with Ginny, Ron, and Neville have been acting weirdly.

Of course, they've been avoiding Harry and me since they found out about our relationship (that's not official, just dating), but this was different. They would usually all be huddled up somewhere talking in hushed whispers. Whenever Harry, Hermione, Luna, or myself walked by, they'd quickly stop talking.

Other than that, Harry asked me on a real date to Hogsmeade, so I pushed the suspicious thoughts of the others out of my mind.

"Hey," Harry greeted. We decided to meet outside the three broomsticks. To others, it would probably just look like a friendly outgoing so that's what it's masked as.

Harry opened the door for me and bowed jokingly. "After you, Princess." I rolled my eyes and walked inside.

We found a table near the back. Harry ordered butterbeers and we sipped them happily. Harry drummed his fingers on the table then switched to holding my hand under the table.

"You know," I started, "you're the first person I've ever, well other than Pansy, put full trust in."

I said it casually but Harry seemed really happy about that. "Really?" He asked quietly.

I suddenly blushed a bit and nodded. "Yeah."

Harry gave my hand a small squeeze. "Then I promise not to break it."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Pro mise.

Harry POV

The next day, I sat at the black lake with Draco when Draco got a letter from Pansy saying to meet her in the library, so I wished him luck and went back to our dormitory.

I pushed open the door and dropped my wand on the table near the door, a bit startled when Ginny, Neville, and Ron stood in the center of the room.

"Uh... Hi?" I said uncertainly, staring at them weirdly. "Why are you all staring at me? Did I do something that you don't agree with again? Because if so I don't give a-"

"Harry," Ginny cut me off surprisingly calmly. I raised a eyebrow at her. "Yes?"

Ron motioned for me to come over to them, so I did and sat down at the foot of my bed. "You're all acting weirdly. What's going on?"

I heard a small click from where Neville was standing. I ignored it.

"First, what do you think about Malfoy? Do you really love him?" Ginny questioned.

I blushed a bit. We haven't actually said I love you yet. "Uh, we haven't said 'I love you' yet, if that's what you mean. Why do you care all the sudden?"

They again ignored my question. "Does that mean you don't actually love him?" Neville pressed. I glared at him. "No," I said frustratedly, "that's not what I said."

"But who is he to you? Do you actually care for him? Don't you still think he's a death eater? You were the one who thought so in sixth year." Ron searched my eyes for something I was unsure of.

"Of course I care for him! And he's not a death eater!" I said defensively. "What are you playing at?"

Again, ignored. "He still has the mark, even if it doesn't work anymore," Ginny countered, "he could still be evil. Are you sure he's not just some fake love interest you're just-"

I groaned. "Okay, fine, he's just some boy, it doesn't matter!" I snapped to make them happy and stop their questions. I quickly thought of some lies to tell them. "I'm just dating him to get test my sexuality, I guess, he's just a fake love interest, that's all!"

Another click sounded about the room. The three of them seemed happy with my answer. Ron grinned and nodded.

Meanwhile with Draco

Draco POV

I felt tears well up in my eyes at Harry's words. He doesn't actually care about me, he's just using me.

I should have known. I'm a death eater who bullied innocent children for fun. There's no way someone like Harry would like me.

I hastily wiped away my tears on the sleeve of my jumper. Harry's, jumper.

Pansy offered me a sad look and put down the muggle walkie talkie they bewitched to work at Hogwarts. She pulled me into a hug and Blaise looked at me apologetically.

"B-but," I croked out while tears fell rapidly down my cheeks. "I t-thought-"

Pansy shushed me. "I'm sorry mate," Blaise said. But he promised, I thought.

"I-i have to go," I said. I quickly grabbed my bag and rushed out of the library while still wiping away the tears on my cheeks.

On the way back to the common room, I ran into the problem himself. "Hi love," he chirped. His happy expression soon turned into a frown. "Are you okay? Why are you crying?"

Harry went to wipe the tears but I moved away from his reach and gave him a hard glare before pushing past him.
