Could You Call It Love?
Draco POV
Call me a bad person but Father's death didn't affect me as much as it affected Mother.
Voldemort killed him as payback for my betrayal. I felt guilty at first since it was basically my fault he died, but I expected it. There's no way Voldemort would have let me get away with betraying him without causing me some sort of misery.
I'm sure he would have done more if he lived.
I was placed on house arrest for a week after the war. Originally it was going to be a month but Harry convinced the new Minister, Kingsley, to shorten it. Surprisingly it didn't take much convincing, Kingsley seemed to have want to anyway.
Mother, on the other hand, was placed on house arrest for three months. She would have been brought to Azkaban if she had the mark and was in his inner circle, but since mother didn't, only house arrest was decided for her. Also at first, she was going to have house arrest for six months but Harry got it shortened to three months.
She was okay with it anyway. She spent most of her time renovating and redecorating the house so it's not coated in dark magic anymore.
As for me, I would scratch my skin where the dark mark was branded raw everytime I took a shower. Now it was just an ugly scar, but it felt disgusting. Almost every time I made myself bleed but that felt better then the memories the mark brought back.
When I wasn't scratching my skin off, I helped mother with the renovations, read, and what I did most of the time... Think about Harry.
Of course it's Harry. I've liked him since 6th year. After the battle of the astronomy tower I came to my senses with my feelings, but there wasn't much I could do about them since Harry still hated my guts.
By now, I'd say I am in love with the boy. Could you call it love? I think so.
Once my house arrest was lifted, I went to Hogwarts to help with the renovations. Instead of adding the extra classrooms, this time a new common room was made for the eighth years. Even though Harry's friends, Ginny and Luna, stay in their own common rooms since they're in seventh year, they spend a lot of time in the eight year common room.
It was a white common room with pops of all houses inside. The four house banners and colors coated the inside. Eight different dormitories were made, four for the girls and same for the boys (if you are transgender or non-bianary you'd get to pick if you wanted to stay with the boys or girls).
Blaise, Dean, Neville, and I were picked for one of the dorms, but all of us would sit at our respective house tables.
I got a letter shortly after the war that Goyle wasn't coming back that year. But I didn't receive any type of communication from Pansy.
So after two months of no show to the renovations, she finally showed up.
And she changed a hell of a lot.
Pansy didn't look any different, but her personality changed just like me. She was nicer, more forgiving, and just a better person in general. She also apologized to Harry multiple times for offering him to Voldemort.
Surprisingly, not many people came to help with the rebuilding. The DA came and some others from other houses as well but not that many. Some didn't come because they were still mourning their lost loved ones, but most didn't come really because it was just a lot of work.
Eventually, the whole castle was rebuilt in time for the new school year.

Third Person POV
Draco kept his head low while walking towards his seat at Slytherin table. Even though he ended up betraying Voldemort at the end, most still didn't forgive him. Draco knew they have a good reason to hate him.
He didn't look up when Pansy sat across from him and ate slowly and quietly.
"Dray, are you okay?" Pansy asked carefully. Draco forced himself to look up and nod. Past Pansy's head, he could see Harry smiling at him. Draco smiled back with a small wave. Harry waved back and winked making Draco turn into a blushing and nervous mess.
He just couldn't seem to function under his gaze.
Pansy rolled her eyes and went back to her food. "Potter's disgusting. I might be nicer now but he's still weird," she muttered.
Draco felt a sharp pang in his chest.
Draco looked at Harry again. He was talking to Hermione, and Hermione seemed to have a knowing look on her face. "Maybe," he mumbled sadly.

To everyone's surprise, Draco and Pansy decided to sit at Gryffindor table for dinner later that day.
Ron looked at them questioningly. "Uh, what are you two doing here?"
Pansy ignored him (and the eyes on them) and piled foods onto her plate. Pansy was only there because Draco forced her to come with him. She'd rather be anywhere else, honestly. Harry looked at Draco and met the soft pair of silver eyes.
"Hi," Harry said suddenly breathlessly without looking away from Draco.
Draco opened his mouth to respond when another Gryffindor stood up and yelled: "Death eater scum isn't welcomed here!"
Harry stood up to say something but Ginny did first. "Mind your own damn business before I hex the living shit out of you!" She yelled fiercely.
That shut him up.
Ginny pursed her lips and sat back down on the opposite side of Harry, muttering something about assholes. Ginny might not be a fan of Draco but it was still annoying when people didn't think before they spoke.
She stabbed her potato with her fork. "Carry on," she said casually.
Draco and Pansy snorted.
Harry messed up Ginny's hair playfully. Ginny swatted his hand away and Harry dodged her slap. She pulled out her wand and he raised his hands in defense.
"Okay okay!"

I also ship Hinny, so I wanted to at least have them be really good friends in this book ;)
