"𝐋ooks like we got back just in time."
Nathalie her backpack on the ground beside her feet. She had met Kai in town while they were both gathering the last couple of things before they would finally leave that alternate plane of existence.
The siphoner was to set down his own bag when Damon appeared inches away from him, leaving the hole he'd been digging to get to the tunnels beneath. The raven haired vampire snatched the backpack from Kai's hands, unzipping it. "Zima, grunge, every Alex Rodriguez rookie card known to man, and a pager. Really?"
Damon dropped the bag on the ground and opened the heretic's one. "Blood bags, daggers, witchy cookbooks, alcohol... These are the important supplies you two needed to get?"
"Look. The future sounds great, all right? I'm super excited about the Internet, but 1994 has been my home for most of my life." Kai tilted his head at the vampire. "I'd hate to get homesick. So, let's get down there—"
"No." Bonnie cut off the boy as she walked forward, pushing Damon out of the way when he attempted to stop her. "We are not going anywhere until you show me the spell."
"Okay." The siphoner dragged the word and stuffed his hands into his pockets as Nathalie leaned her back against a tree. A grin formed on Kai's lips once he heard his daughter mumbling 'Word of warning, he can be quite stubborn'.
"Are we literally not going anywhere?" The raven haired vampire asked after silence settled on them for a long moment. The heretic and the siphoner just exchanged conspirator's smirks.
"Fine," the Bennett witch eventually gave into Kai's stubborn act. "You don't want to show me the spell, then you can do it yourself. You want my magic—take it."
Nathalie raised an eyebrow at the hand her half-sister had held out towards Kai, seeming courageous in the act.
"Uh-oh, she's being brave." Kai mused, glancing above the Bennett girl's head to Damon, the vampire standing just a few inches away from the witch.
"I'm serious, Kai. This was your big threat, wasn't it?" Bonnie retorted back to the Parker boy. "If I don't do the spell and let us out of here, you'll just take my magic, leave me for dead, and do the spell yourself. So go ahead. Take all of it."
Nathalie pushed off the tree, shaking her head slightly to ease the throbbing forming around her temples. "No one's dying." She shot the raven haired vampire a glare that told him she wouldn't mind if he died, and continued. "Come on, Bon Bon. Aren't you even a little bit excited to portal-jump through an eclipse and not to eat pancakes every day? Run to Elena's rescue all over again?"
Bonnie and Kai hadn't batted an eye at her taunting. The siphoner seemed to be considering the Bennett's words, before mumbling a quick 'Don't mind if I do' and gripping the girl's shoulders harshly.
