"We need to stop and rest. It's dark out. We haven't had any luck at finding the rest of the group. If we want more energy to keep travelling then we're going to need proper sleep," I suggest.

"Proper rest? Since when can we get proper rest in a dense forest with empty stomachs and no beds to sleep in?" Simon gorans.

I roll my eyes at his complaints. What am I doing stuck in the middle of a forest with a bunch of weak baby boys?

"She's right. We need to make do with this for now," Alex agrees with me.

"I'm starving," Kyle moans, holding his stomach.

"We all are. It can wait until tomorrow. We've been surviving off of one meal a day so far so who says we can't keep doing it?" I say fidgeting with my hair. I have to stay hopeful on behalf of everyone else. It seems like I'm the only sensible one of the bunch.

"Someone should stay awake and keep watch. It seems to be fate that we keep losing group members during the night hours," Alex insists.

"I'll do it!" Simon volunteers.

For one thing we all need to be well rested in order to keep going and for another, I highly doubt Simon would be able to stay awake the whole night doing absolutely nothing. Even if he did, how does he expect to defend everyone with his scrawny figure?

I try not to think about food as I attempt at falling asleep.

I wake up and almost everyone else is already awake. They're standing around Simon who fell asleep when he was supposed to be keeping guard.

"Wake up Simon!" Alex hollers over Simon's face then laughs with Kyle.

Simon wakes slowly with his eyes barely opening. He rolls onto his stomach and Kyle kicks him in the side.

"Ouch," Simon sits up and looks at his brother who is looking down at him, arms crossed. "Look I'm sorry I fell asleep. We're all still here, that's what matters most right?"

"Well we could've gotten killed," Kyle snorts.

"Finding our friends is our main priority right now. Not who fell asleep last night," I say in a demanding tone.

I start walking away from the mini herd of stupid boys.

"She's right. We should keep moving," Alex decides as he catches up with me.

Kyle runs to catch up with us as well and Simon groans and slowly gets up to catch up.
