REWRITTEN.
It had been a few hours since the siblings had discussed Grace's future without even bothering to include her.
Violet grew more and more anxious as time passed, knowing that her siblings would have questions and would want to talk to her. Because they couldn't ever just leave it. They had to get involved, they had to know everything even if it didn't concern them.
She almost scoffed at the idea. It took her attempting to take her own life twice for some of them to even acknowledge her these days.
Klaus, God bless his heart, had tried hiding his red eyes from Violet when he'd knocked and sheepishly asked if she'd seen his Walkman. She had spotted it immediately and knew that the redness wasn't from drugs for once. She had avoided eye contact, found the Walkman from her closet and carefully passed them over at the doorway.
He had lingered and she had grown fidgety, hair half covering her face, fingers twitching at her sides.
"Hey, uh..." the words 'are you okay' died on the tip of his tongue as he scanned her uneasy appearance, and instead he came out with, "you want to play cards or something later?"
She looked up in mild surprise and thought for a moment before nodding, assuming that Five wouldn't be back until later on anyways so she had time to kill. Klaus had forced a grin and said he was going for a long bath.
She'd pointed sternly at the walkman and he nodded, immediately understanding her.
"I won't get water on it." He'd promised.
Now, Violet lay across her bed with her noise cancelling headphones on, hair sprawled out and hands linked over her stomach in deep thought.
Her thoughts were on Five.
She was itching to have him next to her so she could touch him in some way, remind herself that he was there; she wanted to hold his hand, hear his voice, she wanted him there with her but knew what he was doing was far more important. After all those years, seeing Five again had awoken something in her, something that had previously rotted away.
She furrowed her eyebrows in thought and recalled all of Five's interactions with her since he'd arrived. Something was off and always had been, but she hadn't had the nerve to do anything about it until now. He had been keeping something important from her and she was well aware, but struggled to figure out why he would do such a thing and keep it from her.
Violet and Five were two souls intertwined.
They were always together, always joined at the hip, always arm in arm, always by eachothers sides no matter what.
