I sat on the sofa and scrolled social media as Ashton's friends spoke. They ended up sleeping over and surprisingly all of them needed something from him. Well, they all did except Hayden, She seemed to be the oddball of the group. A bit on the mischievous side. "How does it feel?" I heard her say and I could hear Ashton suck his teeth. I looked up to find her licking her lips at me with a teasing smirk on her face, I raised my brows and looked at Ashton who simply rolled his eyes, "Stop being weird Hayden." He said to her. She didn't say anything after that, she just winked at me and leaned back into the sofa. I don't know why they stayed the night, to be honest. But I never really questioned it because they were his friends and from what I know they just needed his help.

I wonder if they knew that he's not completely human. If they knew about his abilities. I chewed on my bottom lip as I lost myself in my thoughts. I haven't been around this many people since high school. Could I trust them? I know Ashton trusts them. They wouldn't be allowed in our home if that was the case. My mind wandered to what my life would've been like if I hadn't met Ashton. I'd probably be in college doing something for the hell of it. I never really had a plan for real life. I felt someone touch my chin and I zoned back into the real world. My train of thought slowly coming to a stop. I looked in front of me to find Ashton crouched down to my level with a concerned look on his face.

"Are you okay, you kind of zoned out." He said. I glanced over his shoulder to find Hayden pretending to gag. "Affection, yuck." I heard her say and Tyler chuckled before placing his hand over her mouth. I looked back at Ashton and nodded, "Yeah. Just thinking." I told him. He raised his brows before looking over his shoulder at Hayden who stared back at both of us innocently. He turned to me and chuckled, "Ignore her, she's a demon but an angel at times." He said. I heard Tyler yelp and I looked back in their direction again to find Hayden glaring at Ashton.

"Take that back!" She demanded, I raised my brows in confusion as Tyler examined his hand. Slowly the rest of Ashton's friends poured into the living room. Gemma wore a confused look on her face and Isabella simply shook her head. As if she was already aware of what was going on. I was still confused. I mean, Ashton just complimented her. Does she not like compliments? Ashton chuckled and pat her head. "You're going to regret that." She snapped at him and my eyes widen, Gosh she was actually pissed over the small compliment. Ashton smiled at her and said, "And what are you going to do? Hurt me?" She squinted at him and went to lunge at him but Tyler pulled her back into the seat.

Gemma, who seemed to finally pieced together what was going on, laughed and sat down next to isabella who was staring watching the 'show'. Ashton didn't even flinch when she lunged. He winked at her and pat her head once again. She swatted his head and looked at me, "Get your boyfriend before he ends up dead." She said. I stared back at her with wide eyes. All this over a compliment? I wanted to ask but I didn't want her to be pissed at me too. I've only just met her. I looked over at Isabella who somehow made me feel a bit relax. She offered me a small smile, "She's honestly a nice person. She just doesn't do well with compliments." She told me. Hayden looked over at Isabella and squinted at her.

"You love me," Isabella said. Hayden relaxed and chuckled a bit as Ashton sat down next to me. He pulled me into his lap and pulled me closer to him. "What's it like?" Hayden asked again. "What's what like?" Ashton replied but it sounded like he was playing dumb. Like it was almost teasing her in a way. To push her buttons. She rolled her eyes, "Dating a human." She said and I raised my brows as they all seemed relatively calm about the way she worded her sentence. They were calm but they all seemed curious. They sort of stared at him as they waited for him to respond. I let out a small sigh of relief, so they knew about his ordeal. I didn't have to worry about letting that slip.

He rubbed my thigh and chuckled. "It's actually pretty entertaining, honestly. Keeps you on your toes. We don't really fight. She just hates the sight of blood so I keep work away from home as much as possible. She was super annoying when I first met her," He said and I smacked his chest. "I was not," I said defending myself as my cheeks turned a bright shade of red. "She thought I was going to kill her. I love her though, an interesting human here." He said then kissed my forehead. I heard another fake gag and I looked over to find Hayden pretending to throw up. Tyler rolled his eyes and shook his head as she repeated the same sentence again, "Affection, yuck." She said.

I felt Ashton's chest vibrate as he laughed. He didn't say anything but he laughed while looking at Hayden. I looked over at Hayden who stared at him with wide eyes as she shook her head. Ashton didn't even say anything yet she somehow understood him. I stared between the both of them confused, Did I miss something? "No, Please." She mumbled as she continued to shake her head. Tyler raised his brows and smiled a bit, He caught on and so did the rest of his friends. I felt out of place, out of the loop. I had absolutely no idea what was going on. "It's fate," Ashton told her and she rolled her eyes.

"I'd rather go to hell." Hayden replied with a disgusted look on her face, Tyler shrugged, speaking for what seemed like the first time. "I mean you can," He said. I closed my eyes and leaned into Ash's chest. Tyler's voice was smooth and just as deep as Ashton's. It didn't send shivers down my spine but I'm sure to any other person it would. It was border line hypnotizing. It's like a weird trait they possessed. Hypnotic voices. Who were these people? They were almost the same but also completely different at the same time. It's so weird it's almost fascinating. I heard the door swing open and my wicked best friend's voice pierced through the conversation like a sharp sword.

"FUCKING PIZZA'S HERE!" She screamed and I chuckled as I heard Ashton groan, "Damn you, Can you be any louder?" He asked. I heard Gina clear her throat, prepared to accept the challenge Ashton unknowingly tasked her. "PIZZA IS HERE!" She hollered louder than before. This time he winced, "I deserved that."
