"THANK you for allowing me to meet them on such short notice", I said with a smile. I found myself in a plane waiting for takeoff.
"No it's an honor for them your Excellency", the man with a distinct accent said from the other line.
"It's an honor for me too. Don't worry I'll be there in a few hours and thank you so much", I ended the call and lay my head in the seat's head rest. I closed my eyes to take a nap for awhile.
A violent movement of the plane instantly woke me. I could hear people crying and screaming in fear as the flight attendants have been running back and forth to help everyone with their oxygen mask. My body followed the shaking rhythm of the plane making my muscles froze at the moment. I came back to my senses when a male flight attendant dashed in my direction and removed my seatbelt. He dragged my hands holding it tightly as he guided me towards the rear part of the plane. For one last time, I looked behind the unexpected chaos and I felt the wet hot tears filling up my eyes. All of these happened in a snap when we least expected and everyone will mark this as a tragedy. In a flash, her world seemed to stop as a loud explosion followed by a tremendous fire came rushing towards me.
I opened my eyes waking up from a nightmare once again. I found myself in a bedroom. No, a huge bedroom na parang kwarto ng mga hari at reyna. Napahawak ako sa puso ko dahil naramdaman ko ang mabilis na pagtibok nito habang iginagala ang paningin ko sa kabuuan ng kwarto. This room looked quite familiar. There was a set of white couch with purple pillows on the left side of the bed and an opened door of the veranda on the right letting the sunlight through the room. There was a white study table far but in front of the bed with fresh-looking lavender flowers filling up a white vase.
BUMANGON na ako mula sa pagkakahiga sa isang white and purple king size bed at napansin ang natutulog na si Cole sa gilid ng kamang ito. Napansin ko ang mahaba niyang pilik-mata na bumagay sa maamo niyang mukha. Magulo ang black straight hair nito na bahagya kong inayos gamit ang kamay ko.
Tumingin muli ako sa paligid habang kinukusot ang mata ko at doon ay naramdaman ko ang mga luha sa pisngi ko. As expected, umiyak na naman ako dahil sa panaginip ko. Napasabunot ako sa mahaba kong buhok dahil sa inis at pagtataka nang ma-realize ko na hindi naman May 28 ngayon.
What is happening? I thought the dream only appears every May 28 and definitely it isn't today. I checked my smart watch na suot ko para siguraduhin ang araw ngayon. It shows 7:51 AM June 8, 2113 Thursday na dahilan para mapayuko ako sa pag-iisip. The nightmare ended like the usual but I felt like it started differently dahil plane lang ang nakita kong setting at wala nang iba. Ilang minuto akong nag-isip kung paano nga ba nagsimula 'yon pero wala na akong maalala. Biglang nabaling ang atensyon ko sa malakas na ringtone ng alarm ko conveying it's already eight o'clock in the morning.
"Phone alarm stop", I commanded to my phone and it stopped. Napayuko ulit ako habang inaalala ang panaginip kanina ngunit nagising si Cole sa tabi ko kaya sa kanya naman nabaling ang atensyon ko.
