Titir's POV: The imaginary picture of "steam rising from my white mug of tea" was honestly boosting up my reading mode. Actually it was a Serene afternoon of Autumn. When I got back from my class, I found Preeya already went out with Anas as usual, So I was alone in my room. I took my meal from the kitchen and opened my laptop to watch something funny and started eating alone. Then I tried for almost an hour to have a nap, but my effort turned into a vanity and I was deeply thinking what could reduce my tiredness and give me a Fresh vibe. Then the idea of making a mug of tea and reading a famous book- which I should had been reading long ago- peeped in my mind simultaneously. So I went to the common kitchen of us and found Lamia Apu was standing there and searching for some utensils.

"Hey apu, what's up"? I smiled and turned the gas on and Put a kettle over it to boil water.

" oh, Titir! I went to your room in the noon and I found your room locked. So I thought you were in your campus till then"-Lamia apu stood upon a l and brought out her "tiffin carrier" from a  high shelf!

"I actually was, apu. What happened? Didn't I return you the diary of our monthly expenses? "-I asked and tried to remember things.

" yeah, yeah. You gave me back, kiddo. No worries"- She tried to smile and looked elsewhere to find out something else, I guess!

-"Then what?" I asked and pour some tea leaves into the already boiled water.

-"Titir, I have got a job in an NGO of my locality. I am going to join next week", she told me in such a tone that It felt like she was giving news of someone's death!!

-"What!Congratulations apu. When will we give us the treat?"- I hugged her feeling really happy that her long cherished dream has been fulfilled. She had her aged father whose low income as an accountant of a school was the sole source of running their family plus he really tried hard to maintain Lamia apu well -we knew that.

-"Thank you, Titir. But now I have to leave this Dhaka, all of you within this week".She kept her hand on my kinda rough hair and almost whispered the sentence.

I really got baffled and thought in the hug" why this "bitter truth" did not come to my mind! Like it was quite obvious if she got a job in her locality, she could no longer be with us!"

I could not finish my thought as I felt my shoulder was already wet.Wet with someone's tear. The pain which was forming inside me became really unbearable.

I untied the hug and pretended that nothing serious happened.
" It is your "dream comes true"moment. I know these are your " happy tears",Right? -wiping her face, I tried to sooth her. She smiled and left kitchen.

The vapour from the kettle made a foggy atmosphere where I let my sigh to join!

When I stepped into my room with that expected cup of tea, No longer do I felt the urge to lay on the bed and to keep my lazy eyes on the book" The God Of small things ".

That cup full of hot darjeeling tea remained untouched on the reading desk of mine.

Lamia's POV:

If you took a look at the calendar, it was more than six years I was there in that tiny room of the hostel with different  roommates. I still remembered the morning I came in this capital for the first time with my father. I was a newbie in Dhaka from a small village. Everything seemed too unpopular, too distant, too big to that small town's girl.I came here for my study purpose as my father dreamed that I would shine in life and be as bright as the sun.He wanted me to become a doctor which did not happen ultimately. I still remembered  When baba was about to go back keeping me here in the hostel alone, I started crying so hard as if he was trafficking me to an unknown deserted area! It felt like I could not see my people anymore.I thought I had to pass the rest of my life with the people whom I never met before.
