2 Chapter 8: Home Guard.

Raven was meditating infront of the sunset to relax herself, she meditates more often now because of the whole cracking gem scenario. She thinks meditation can strengthen her and her powers to stop her father.

She honestly doesn't know if meditation was the way to go, if it even made her stronger, she doesn't feel that different.

As she continued to calm herself, Damian watched her from behind.

After a few minutes, Damian decided that staring there wasn't doing anything so he stepped forward and sat beside her.

"Huh, I was thinking how long you were gonna be just staring there, Dame." She said with a smirk and opened one eye.

Damian chuckled at her words, "Are you okay?" He asks facing the mage.

"I'm fine, why would you think otherwise?" Raven asked.

"Nothing, it's just that with your situation; your father nearing his escape, I thought you would be a little more in panic." Damian said.

"Well that's the point, my father is near to escape so I need to calm myself and make myself too stressed." She replied.

Damian says a faint 'good idea' before facing the setting sun once more.

They sit there, in silence, for a few minutes before Dick opened the door and speak. "Hey guys, sorry to destroy your moment but the league's on the screen."

"But why? They never do a meeting unannounced." Raven replies. Damian nods, going along with her statement.

"I don't know why, but let's just go." Dick said before leaving the two alone again on the roof. "We should go." Damian says standing up and offering his hand, Raven grabs it and pulls herself up.

They both head inside and to the common room where the big screen where the league was.

Once they entered the room, Superman started.

"I'm sorry for calling on such short notice, but we need to address this to you too." Clark said sternly.

"What is it about Superman?" Kori asks on behalf of every Titan.

"We are planning to kill Darkseid." Clark replies, looking at each and everyone of the Titans. It took a few seconds for the Titans to process the information given.

"Are you serious?" Dick asked, Superman nods in response.

"Umm......who's Darkseid?" Gar asks out of nowhere. All faces look at him, "What?!" He says in confusion. Everybody shakes their heads and goes back to the topic.

"Did you finally lose your mind, Kent?" Damian asks, he was pissed.

Kori and Dick give him a glare, Damian shrugs it off.

"We need to act now, a few league members did recon and we found out that Darkseid sent out drones to do reconnaissance on Earth." Batman chimes in.

"We need the Titans to guard the planet while the league is off world." Batman adds.

"We'll do everything you ask." Starfire returns.

"Good." Superman says.

"Have you even thought about this thoroughly?!" Damian chimes in. Everybody looks at him.

"I mean-" He wanted to continue if it wasn't for Dick putting his hand over his mouth and drags him away outside the room.

Damian forcefully removed Dick's hand away from his mouth. "What the hell Grayson!" He says giving Dick a glare.

"You cannot just talk to the league like that, like you're higher than them!", Damian scoffs.

"Well I can, if they're idiots!" Damian says pissed.

"Still! You do NOT do that again, understand?"

"Fine, you know you say you wanted to get out of Bruce's shadow, well you're slowly becoming him." Damian said.

In a few seconds Dick's fist met Damian's face. The boy wonder fell on his back.

"Don't say that to my face ever again!" Dick said then went back to the meeting inside.

Damian wiped the blood coming out of his nose, stood up and headed back in.

Once he came back in, the league and the Titans were already planning like when the league will leave and all that.

"Well that's all, we'll give you more information before we leave." Superman said. Kori nods in return.

"Good day Titans." Clark said before ending the call.

Once the screen went to black Kori faced the group.
"Okay Titans, the justice league just gave us a task. We have to protect the Earth while they're gone, further announcements to be given. Today, just rest." Kori announced, everyone nodded and went to their own rooms.

This is happening all over again, but this time, we'll they succeed?
