[Second Training Camp - Fourth day]
[3.55 p.m.]
[Shinzen High School - Hallway in front of the principal's office]
[Saitama, Japan]Kimi closed the door shut and was surprised to find that Kuroo was leaning on the wall just beside the principal's office. She had completely forgotten that he was the one who dropped her off to where she was. Her face suddenly turned nervous, knowing that her captain might have been listening.
"Were you listening?"
"Sorry, you guys just started talking, I had no choice."
"You had the choice to walk away. If you have questions or complaints, I can't answer now," Kimi turned away and folded her arms, looking uncomfortable.
"Well, I don't intend to ask questions that will make you uncomfortable. I also can't tell you what to do, but if you plan on transferring, do let me know-,"
"Kimuchka!" Kaito appeared at the end of the hallway before Kuroo could finish his sentence.
"I figured you'd be here. How was it? Did the principal give you trouble?" Kaito asked, snuggling into her shoulder. Kimi, still keeping the same face, patted him on his head.
"He didn't. Don't even need to pay," Kimi said, lying while staring at Kuroo, as if threatening him to not say anything.
"Really? Sweet. Nii-chan sent us the money already, he said if we're not paying we can buy new games with it. But really, he didn't give you any trouble? At all?" Kaito let go of his hug, and patted Kimi on her head too, playing with her hair.
Kimi looked back at Kaito and smiled a wide, innocent, and most importantly, the fakest smile Kuroo had seen her make.
"More importantly, what games should we buy? Should we get the shooting game we played with Kenma the other day? Then the three of us can play together," Kimi asked, hugging Kaito casually.
"Hmm...Kaito, did you gain more muscle? You got taller too. Let's see. Around 2 cms?"Kuroo, who was staring at the twins, noticed that his kouhai was avoiding Kaito's questions. On the other hand, Kaito looked bashful, showing a sheepish grin.
"We-well just a little, 2.3 cm to be precise. Are you free now? I have half an hour until the olympiad training, wanna go to the convenience store?"
"Sure. Everyone else is on break too, we can go quickly," Kimi flashed one of her rare smiles, taking Kaito's arm.
"Thank you for ignoring me," Kuroo pulled Kimi from the back collar of her shirt, like a cat.
"Ah, Kuroo-senpai, are you coming?" Kimi asked him in the flattest tone possible.
"Huh? Since when were you here?" Kaito's face immediately turned stern again.
"Since before you came. I'm tagging along. Let's go," Kuroo grinned at Kimi, while Kimi glared at Kuroo with a suspicious face.-
"Kaitooo, buy me chocolate?" Kimi looked up to Kaito, holding a big bar of chocolate with a pleading face that was almost...cute.
"Huh? Didn't you buy like, three yesterday? Eating so much chocolate is not good for your health you know."
"Pretty please?" Kimi looked at Kaito with puppy eyes, and a made up disappointed face.
"Kimoushka, sorry, dear, I-"
"Kaito too, eats greasy food and pizza everyday," Kimi pouted, puffing up her cheek.
"Well, my cholesterol levels are fine, so..."
"My blood sugar is fine too..." Kimi, still puffing up her cheek, looked at Kaito, once again pleading.
Kuroo, too, observed Kaito. Kaito looked like he was completely torn between letting her sister have another candy bar, or common sense. On the other hand, he never thought that his manager would know how to use any girly charms at all, but here we are...
"Just one, okay? Then no more," Kaito looked at Kimi, waiting for her reaction.
Kimi smiled sincerely, and quickly hugged Kaito, expressing her gratitude. Kaito, again, looked a little too happy from getting a hug from his very little sister, hugged her back.It didn't take long until they got back to the school and parted with Kaito. On the way back to the gym, Kuroo threw his gaze at Kimi.
"Nishikawa, remind me not to mess with you. You're a fearful woman."
"What?" Kimi asked, her cutesy act was over and she turned to look at Kuroo with a straight face.
"To think you're able to use Nishikawa Kaito just like that...I didn't know you know how to use your girly charms at all. Somehow scary, I'm getting shivers," Kuroo hugged himself.
"It only works on my brothers. Especially Kaito because he is a next level tsundere," Kimi answered blatantly as she opened the packaging of her chocolate bar.
"You have a heart?"
"There's no heart in here. Just a cold, dark, empty space," she said, biting her chocolate.
"Besides, Kaito knows. Whenever I'm using him or putting on an act. Kaito always knows. He just lets me do whatever I want."
"What? Really? How do you know he knows?"
"He's Kaito after all. And I'm bad at lying. And because we're twins or something. Well, if it actually bothered him he would've said something," Kimi shrugged.
"Really? You guys really are weird," Kuroo laughed.
Kimi stared at Kuroo for a few seconds, and broke a chuckle.
"You're right. We get that a lot."
