Kenma heard a loud crash. He woke up to the sight of Kuroo and Kimi stacked up on the ground, the fallen ladder on the ground beside them. Kenma immediately stood up and ran to them.
"You guys okay?"
Kimi, noticing that he was on top of Kuroo, jumped up and got off immediately.
"Kuroo-senpai? Are you okay?"
"I'm okay," Kuroo sat up, patting his cheeks.
"Did you hit your head? Are your arms okay? Legs?" Kimi scanned Kuroo all over, he looked fine. Only that his lips were bleeding a little.
"I'm okay, my arms are fine, my legs are moving. What are you doing? What are you, medic?" he looked at Kimi, to his surprise Kimi had a very angry face.
"Kuroo-senpai you...you idiot! Why did you try to catch me? You should've just let me fall. You big idiot! Stupid!"
Kuroo and Kenma looked at each other, what just happened? Why is she mad?
"I think an apology would've been enough," Kuroo said, getting up, but Kimi kept ranting.
"I wouldn't have died from that height! Should've just let me fall! Why did you have to try to catch me? Did you think you were a hero or something? Stupid!"
"So you're saying I should've let you fall," he looked at Kimi. Kimi nodded.
"And when you fall, even if I don't catch you, you'd probably end up with one or two broken bones, but it won't be life threatening," Kimi nodded again. Her face serious. Kenma was at the top of his confusion. Why are these two always fighting?
"As if I could do that, you idiot kouhai!" Kuroo said, his face pissed off.
"If you're a girl you should act more like one. Ask for help!" he pulled Kimi's cheeks.
"Don't make me laugh. Help? From who? If you're a captain you should act more like one. Don't do reckless things. The interhigh prelims are coming up. What would happen if you had broken a bone?"
"Huh? What does that have to do with you? What would you do if you had broken a bone?"
"Kuro, I think we should stop the bleeding on your lip first, let's get ice from the freezer," Kenma said, not understanding the situation. Why these two are fighting, he still didn't understand, but he knew Kuroo had blood trickling down his jaw by now.
Kimi noticed the blood on his lips, looked away, covered her mouth, and ran off. Kenma and Kuroo, as usual were left dumbfounded. They went to the kitchen to get some ice. As Kuroo sat down with ice pressed up on his lip, Kimi came out from the toilet looking pale.
"You look like a ghost, you okay?" Kenma asked. Kimi nodded, not saying anything. She wiped her mouth.
"Kimi, did you just throw up?" Kenma asked again.
"No," she said.
"Hey are you okay? You didn't hit your head or something right?"
"I'm ok. Kuroo-senpai should rest a little. I'm going to clean my room," she said as she ran upstairs.

"Seriously, why does she has to be so prickly about everything? I thought she was a little cute when she was being honest yesterday," Kuroo sighed, still pressing ice on his lip.
"I think she's just worried about you Kuro. She doesn't seem like the type who can convey it well though."
"Well I worry about her as well. She has zero self awareness. Always going home late alone, living in such a big house alone, never eating properly, look at her fridge, it was emptier than yours when you were left alone last summer. Never asking for help, off season kotatsu in the study."
"To her defense though, the kotatsu in the study is a great idea," Kuroo rolled his eyes.
"What would have happened if I didn't cushion her when she fell? What would happen if she had broken just one arm? She lives alone."
"And I am caught in an unnecessary drama here. But come to think about it, it's been awhile since I see you get so irritated about something."
"Damn right, I haven't seen anyone so rude since Yakkun. Not to mention, a girl. Seriously she's not cute at all, what is she, a guy?"
"Well I guess she's just not your type. But she's the kind of person you can't leave alone, am I right?"
"Not really."
"Sure, lie all you want," Kenma smiled. Kenma knew all too well that Kimi reminds Kuroo of his old self.
"Well I wanna go see her games in the room. If you're okay, then I'll go up for a bit," Kenma left Kuroo on the pantry and went upstairs.
