Chapter 7: Tidy Up

I don't know what kind of stupidity stuck into my head that made me agree to that offer. Looking at the piece of paper in my hand or should I say 'contract', regret started creeping to my soul. I could have said no and just walked away right? But I didn't.

I looked at my phone, deciding whether to call Daphgne or not. If I told her about the contract, she would not stop bothering and lecturing me about my decisions. She would make me tell her the story over and over again until it finally sinks into her. But then, I can't shake off the guilt I'm feeling if kept this a secret from her.

Finally coming to a conclusion, I dialed Daphgne's phone number. The sound of the pop song as her ringtone didn't help calming my nerves. My breath hitched when I heard her voice.

"Okay, I have something to tell you," I told her. She just hummed and it made me more nervous than ever.

"I got into a fake relationship with Yuzuru earlier and I know I should've said it to you. I'm sorry for lying," I said really fast. I'm freaking ready for some ass whooping lecture from her.

"So, my gut feeling is right," She just said calmly.

"Y-You're not angry?" I asked. Her cackle echoed in my room like a witch. Should I be scared that she's just fine with it or not?

"No, I'm not. Anyways, my hunch is right. Yuzuru needs something from you that why he'd gone through all of that fake ass courting,"

How come I didn't get suspicious at all? She's right. Why would he go to such extreme as attempting suicide if he doesn't need something from me. I must've been really shocked and all that I just forgot to think. Like what happened earlier.

I also told Daphgne that I'm meeting Yuzuru tomorrow. She told me to drop the contract immediately.

"I've seen this kind of scenario before. Almost 80% of the girls that enter that kind of relationship fell for the guy," She said in-a-matter-of-fact tone.

"It will only take a few weeks he said. I got this," I said, confidently. She just warned me one last time before the call.

I picked up Yuzuru's number to call him but he wasn't answering. After a few attempts, I just decided to text him that I got sick all of a sudden and won't be able to meet him tomorrow. A genius idea right?

Now, he won't even bother to come here in my house. I can finally sleep in peace.

A sudden bang at my bedroom door woke me up. My eyes half-closed because of the sound and body still lazy to even stand up. I sat for a few seconds before going back to sleep. The banging didn't continue anymore so Apollo must've hit his toe or something, considering he's one stupid kid.

I'm close to falling back again in my dream land when another bang surround the room, this time much louder. I was about to shout at Apollo but that's when I realized something. I hope she's not the one making that noise.

"Athena! Some boy is searching for you downstairs! You better explain this to me!"

My whole body sprang up and immediately reached for my phone. When I opened it, numerous notifications greeted me and it's from the one and only Yuzuru. Some of the messages were sent yesterday and some today.
