Chapter 5

Roan was still blubbering, and the Isabella was getting redder and redder. To be honest, I haven’t blubbered anything yet, because Roan’s rambling is making Isabella red, and to be honest it’s entertaining. I swear, any minute soon, steam will shoot out of her ears.

“Oh my god! SHUT UP. YOUR THOUGHTS ARE SO ANNOYING!” She busted out randomly, her face losing some of its redness from her outburst. She has to be funny when she’s having a super fit.

“God calm down woman” I mumbled fiddling with my phone now. No signal. Damn my life. Not that I had anyone to call. But the internet was always good. In a blink of an eye, my phone wasn’t in my hand anymore, and I was staring into bulging eyes.

Isabella had my phone gripped tightly in her white fist and her eyes were glaring directly at me. “Do not say the lords name in vain.” She said quietly in a serious voice. What is with this woman? She crazy? Someone call the mental hospital please. Woman needs a chill pill.

“God, calm down, and give me my phone back.” I said trying to grab my phone while standing up.

“What did I just say? Don’t say God in vain. What is wrong with you? Can’t you follow an instruction?” She screeched while I was looking at her with my eyes slowly burning into hers. No one can tell me what to do. Who does she think she is?

“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you? So what if I say ‘GOD’. I’ll say it as much as I want. GOD. GOD. GOD. God didn’t do anything for me. Why should I care? And why do you? Like you’ve met God. Like he cares about you? Or anyone for that fact.”

I grabbed my phone from her lose hand, her jaw open to what I said. I plopped back onto the couch and looked through my photos of when Jett and I went to the stream. I was smiling at the one of us two, but then when Jett peaked I started to look at the others I took.

I could feel Jett smirking at me. I looked up when I heard Roan speaking again. Isabella was sitting with him again, with her fists tightly held in her lap, and her face glaring deathly into my face. Thank God, looks can’t kill.

“So, as I was saying before.” He looked at Isabella for a second. I smirked at her at that, which only made the green vain on her pallid forehead throb more. Roan continued looking at my face. I stopped smirking and put on my smiling innocent face.

He chuckled and then stopped when Isabella’s beautiful death glare fell on him. He cleared his throat awkwardly and looked at me, and continued.

“So there’s some stuff you ought to know.” I nodded my head. I want to know why I’m here to dude. Especially with Miss Stress here, she looks like she’s never had fun.

“Okay, so first off. We’re here because you’re in danger.” Okay. Confusion. Why am I in ‘danger’? No one wants to exactly kidnap me. I’m not valuable.

“And why’s that?” I raised a brow.

“Well, that’s where you need to keep calm. You’re, um, well, how do I say this? You like have powers, shall we say. And because of that, Demons want you. As their little chew toy.” He said the last part quietly.

“Um, come again? You guys kidnap me, and you can’t simply say that you want money? C’mon, demons, chew toy, POWERS?” I laughed for a second, until I saw all of their serious faces. Are they seriously trying to play me that bad?
