(#1 In The Acceptatio Series)
"What happened to mom and dad?" I asked lowly.
"Kenneth, you have no need to worry. Just go ahead and play with your friends,"
I was getting upset by not knowing the truth. "But I want to know!"

Kenneth
"You have to trust me! I did not kill my aunt! Why would I even do that?!" My voice was booming across the building, everyone was looking at me, I felt so exposed. Christian had brought me here at a police department here in Italy. I was in handcuffs, being told to keep my mouth shut until the other members from his team came here too. I just can not believe that he would not trust me, after everything I told him. But it was my fault too, my fault to not tell anyone about Aunt Susan's death. Things could have ended better now.
His co-worker, Rafael shoot daggers at me. "I don't know Kenneth. Why would YOU killed your aunt, huh?" His tone was laced with venom that made me gulp, speechless.
"I swear to god! I did not kill her! We were intruded, our house! The killers came to us because they want this necklace! Christian! You have to believe me!" I stare at Christian in disbelief, he just kept quiet as I was shouting the truth towards him. He kept quiet when I was here being accused of murderer that I did not do. How could he? I trusted him.
I was at the brink of my tears when he left, he left me with his friends who did not trust my words. "Christian! Hey! Please! Don't go! I need you!" I cried to him. He did not stop, just keep walking away further than me.
Rafael gave me a look, a worried one. Why was he worried? "I think you need some rest. We'll ask more questions about your aunt later on," He spoke, then asking some police officers to bring to a temporary lock up.
"I Did Not Kill My Aunt," I responded to him, gritting my teeth. I was in between being sad, mad and betrayed. Sad that this misunderstanding was happening. Mad that I was being accused and betrayed because someone who I trust just bail out on me.
I sat on the bench in the lock, staring at the man who was watching at me in confuse. "We'll see if that is true later on, Kenneth," He said simply, then walked off to go somewhere, maybe going after Christian.
After he left, the room was empty with no other people left rather than just a couple of police. I felt lonely again, sitting here in my spot. I tried to distract myself from the loneliness but it was not helping at all. My heart needed somebody here to just talk to me, to just listen to what was truly been going on. These accusations towards me just cancels everything that was truth and it made so mad at how people just cannot stop for a while and listen to what I have to say.
Running my hands through my hair, I heard footsteps coming towards me. Looking up, my eyes caught the figure of the man who was with me on this journey. Christian. I stand up to my feet, with my hands still being cuffed as I stare at him deep in his blue eyes. He looked sad.
The metal poles was the only thing separate the two of us. I wanted to get out of here. This makes me look like I was the bad guy.
"Why didn't you told me?" He asked, looking down to my hands. I bring them up, holding the metal poles, my eyes were still intact to his face. "I did not kill her... You have to understand, I was scared. You need to listen to my side of the story first. This would be unfair for me,"
His eyes went back to mine, seeming to realize my point. Grabbing the key to the lock, he opens the cell, but not letting me out instead he goes inside with me. The police near us look at him, but he immediately gave him a signal that he got this. Hell, I am not even that dangerous to even kill someone yet to hurt someone like Christian. It would take a million of my strength if I ever want to take him out.
"Then enlighten me," He spoke raspily, his voice echoed from my right ear to my left, filling them with sparks here and there. I stare into his eyes as he loomed over me, looking me straight into me. I step backwards, getting away from the man, was he drunk?
My back hits the wall behind me, his arms went over to trap my head in between them. "Tell me what happen, Kenneth," I could only stare into his oceanic eyes, that tells different emotions. I could see warmth, sparkles that made me want to crawl deep into his heart. He has been hiding his emotions from me so often, I need to know what he was feeling too.
I gulped, thinking of where to start. "I was on my way to my room, and... I stopped in front of a picture of me and Aunt Susan during Christmas when I was eight-," I paused, letting out a sigh. "-then something happens. The necklace, it showed me a message of what would happen in the future, just like my mom experience before... but what was different was that, I did not make the right choice....," He let go of his arms from the wall, listening to me attentively.
"Go on," He spoke, wanting me to continue. He did not even ask what I did, and I was grateful for that. If he did, I would be a crying mess by then.
"The message gave me a glimpse of my aunt dying in front of me. I was late, Christian. I could have saved her. They were there at my house at that time and I could not even fight them, could not even protect my family because I was scared, I was scared if I do, it would get worse. That they would go after my other family members. I was not strong but now I am... trust me Christian. Remember when I said on the plane that I killed the murderer? It was me, I drove him towards a boulder and let him crash there, he was after me. Don't you see? He was after this necklace I am wearing. I would never kill my own family member,"
Christian stared onto the floor after I explained to him what truly happened. He was in his state of rethinking the situation. My hand went over to grab his arm, having his attention back at me. Now, his blue eyes were really bright, like someone had just shone over them.
"You have to trust me, I am not the enemy here," I whispered at him. My eyes went to look onto his lips. I do not know why but somehow it just gets to me that I needed to kiss them to make him truly believe me but that would be a dick move.
He closed his eyes, going closer into my body. "What are you doing to me, Kenneth Knowles?" He whispered slowly, blowing me soft breaths. I take in the feeing of his air, it made the loneliness that I was feeling go away. I could not deny that the man was breathtaking in the way he looked, but they way he acted towards me was almost surreal.
"I'm enlightening you, I'm telling you the truth. We either finish this or let them do destruction towards the innocent lives here," I responded, lifting his face up to see mine.
He nodded, then goes to step back from me. The warm feeling that I felt when he was close to me instantly vanish, leaving me feeling cold from the air. I wanted to be close to him again but I hold myself down, I did not know what was inside his heart to know if he even truly has feelings for me. Do I have feelings for him? I even said that I would not fall for the same gender, but even sometimes I think that it was destined enough if we were to fall in love with each other. Even so, to read and understand someone's heart... I needed to understand mine. He was a nice guy, really full of respect, appreciative, fun and a tease a time, but he was serious with work and take full responsibilities of it. I know he would do the right thing even when we just knew each other.
"I'll see what I can do, but in the meantime, you have to stay in here. I know you don't like it, I can feel it but it's the best way for us to make sure that you're either wrong or right. If you're wrong in which I hate to admit, we'll' have to take you in. But if you're right, I will get you out of this cell immediately and finish this," He said, giving me hope that he was still with me on this.
"And I'm sorry if my friend were harsh on you during the interrogation. I wish I could make it up to you but for now, the least I could do is trust you on this, alright?"
I nodded, understanding every word. "Yes... thank you, Christian... you're so kind to me...,"
"That's because I...," He interrupted himself, not continuing what he had to say. Because what Christian? Say it...
"Get some rest... you need it," He changed the topic, then goes on to walk away from the small cell I was in. I wish he told me the thing he wanted to say.
