I am just kidding." Ryan said laughing.
I thought he really was going to come to my house.
Well, I wanted him to come to my house but now I have planned for something more better. I wanted to spend more time and just keep prattling with him.
"Yaah fine! Hey! What about I drop you home today?" I asked nervously.
He was quite amused at this sudden proposal and his eyebrows lifted a little but then they relaxed at the same speed and he accepted the proposal smiling.
"Sure! Lets go! But wait! Take your brother too. You're forgetting him again." He said.
"Oh, don't worry 'bout that. He goes by bus, It's just sometimes, usually Mondays that he likes to go home with me. Rest of the week, in the morning by Dad and in afternoon by bus." I explained.
"By Dad! I mean your Dad drops him? That's amazing. Its sweet but he can go to school by bus also so why this?." He asked.
I was a little confused at this weird inquiry. I had never faced such a weird question.
"Well! Isn't it something normal? Something quite obvious! All Dads do so! I mean which child on Earth doesn't have this wish in their childhood that their Dad drop them to school. Similarly, Simon likes to go with Dad. They listen to radios all the way and enjoy their boys talk." I replied simply. It was like someone was asking me what is two plus two.
I halted for some breath.
Ryan's face was still narrowed and he looked confused. I couldn't understand this. I noticed that his modestly downcast eyes were hiding something.
"Come on! Don't say you are not aware of the common Father-son relation? Why do you look so confused about this?" I asked
"Ye..Yes. Of course, It...its obvious."
He hissed. Then, his phone rang. He picked it up and I was certain whatever he heard was not mere coz his expressions became serious and his hands were trembling.
He hung up the phone and again goy lost in his world of dreams. I snapped my fingers in front of him.
"What was it? What has happened? You okay?" I asked softly. His eyes were still down and he looked sad. I once more snapped my fingers in front of his face to bring him back to reality.
"Heelllo. Where are you lost?" I asked.
"No..Nothing. I think I'll go by myself. I have some work somewhere. Anyways thanks for the invitation. Bye." He said gloomily.
"Ok...But..what happened....!" He didn't even wait to hear my response and disappeared in the crowd.
This was something really eerie.
Had I hurt his feelings or Had I offended him?
It was something in the call that had cause him this sadness(I think) and maybe that was making him uncomfortable.
I shook my head, went to my car and drove back home. I felt sad that I couldn't drop him home because I really wanted to spend some more time with him.
I couldn't stop thinking about his sudden change of mind and his lost eyes for the whole day.
The next day, Ryan didn't come to School. I was quite taken aback by this. What had happened? There was certainly something wrong.
After two days, he finally came back.
I was quite relieved to know he had caught cold and that's why couldn't attend classes.
