Chapter 8

~Thursday~

I seem to improve more on my classes because of tutoring, though it's tiring, hopefully worth it.

The coach gave us more information about the trip after swim practices, I get more and more prepared for what to bring.

On Wednesday, Zack suggested to the teacher that he and I should switch seats so that 'I can see better', I felt irritated with him, and was so cold toward him, especially during tutoring, I tried my best to not ask him for help.

My friends and I are all at lunch, less eating, more talking.

"Hey, guess what, you guys are going to love this," Brandon starts out, "there'll be a haunted house terror at a carnival near by the hotel, though we have to walk for a while, I looked it up online, the coach approves that we can go!"

"Awesome!" I said excitedly.

"Let's go there!" Riley exclaimed.

"Yeah, we can go there at night, in the day, there's a fall carnival where we can play games, and there'll be fireworks at midnight, so maybe go after the haunted house terror?"

We all agreed.

After school~~~

I was studying the flash cards for biology, Zack was next to me, the room was just too quiet.

"Are you going to the trip?" I asked while reading the cards.

"Mm." What a short answer.

"Honey? I'm coming in," my mom opens the door, "Hey, I'm going to be gone tomorrow, Regan has a play going on, Lily's going to watch, so I'll be late, sorry I won't be able to make you guys snacks."

I shook my head, "No, it's fine mom."

"Okay, there'll be some fruit in the fridge tomorrow if you want some, but there's only a few, I'll have to go to the store to get them."

"Mm, okay, thanks."

My mom closes the door.

Zack gets up and looks at my pictures on the wall, tons have me with my family, "How many siblings do you have?"

"Uh, three."

"Mm, I have two, a big brother, a little sister."

"I also have a big brother and two little sisters." I replied.

"You're not mad at me anymore? About the seat switching?" He smirks.

"Oh I'm still mad at everything you did." I growled.

"What? Beating you guys in a few competitions? For bullying you guys? Spray painting on your guys' lockers? Putting food coloring in the pool? Vandalizing your property? And more? It was just a little tease, Prince." His little smirk gets bigger.

"It's not like we haven't beat you guys before. But just a little tease?! What do you have against us, why us?"

He just shrugs. I really hate it when people don't give me a proper answer and just say nothing.

"You can go now, I'll be studying." I said coldly.

He didn't leave just yet, he grabbed my phone off the desk.

"Hey! What are you doing with my phone?!" I exclaimed, trying to grab it away from him, but he dodged, and... I was too short anyways.

"Adding my number."

He calls with a number, which I'm guessing it's his, a buzz came from his pocket, and he gave it back, "Your password is too easy, really? 123456? Anyways, no tutoring class tomorrow, see ya." he waves off and leaves.

I looked at my phone, I saw that he added his name, number, and his photo. I rolled my eyes.

I changed my password into 200317.

I went back to studying as I promised. As a reward, I don't have to study on a Friday.

~Friday~

I went to my first class, there's always a test on every Friday.

Normally I'd complain but I feel more confident in these classes, now that I really use my effort on studying class, weird.

At the end of the class, I was about to leave, but the teacher suddenly call me up.

"Payton, I gotta say, you been making huge progress lately, I'm proud of you, keep it up."

I smiled at her comment and left the class to get to other classes.

At Home~~~

I was alone at home, my brother is in his club and then his basketball practice after school, he also has a basketball trip to go to as well, he'll be home soon to pack for his trip.

We have to leave around 5:00 PM on Saturday which will be the 25th of October, and it'll be Friday 31, on Halloween night, I'm so excited, though we might not get free candy, at least we'll get the fun out of it.

I put things I needed for the hotel all in my suitcase, and put the stuff I need for the whole bus ride in my big Nike bag, which has a hoodie, my light swimming jacket, neck pillow, money, cordless/wireless phone charger, Apple Watch charger, two set of crackers, puking bags(just in case, because I had a weird experience with a classmate vomiting on the same bus as me and I don't want it to happen again), earbuds, gum, Advil for stomach pain, hand sanitizer, and I will just be carrying my pillow.

My stomach growled, I went downstairs to the fridge to find the fruit my mom mentioned that she cut up, they weren't there, I looked again, there was no fruit.

I'm guessing my nerdy brother took it for lunch without anyone noticing.

Oh well, I'll make Mac and cheese, though I'd still prefer to have fruit.

My favorite pet are dogs/puppies, they're rather cute and fun to play with🥰 I personally have one, she's a yellow lab, she's in an adult size, but still acts like a baby, she thinks she's still physically small, what can I say, she's got loads of energy.😂 We have a fun human-dog game we play, I just call it hide and seek tag, what's different is I have to throw her toy into the opposite direction so that I can run and hide, fun, huh?🥺💜 I love her, and I pretty much spoil her out of all people, she really means a lot to me!
