Throughout the whole day, we've been going through the schedule slowly, to be familiar with it.
It's now dinner time, we all gathered at the dining hall, my friend's and I all complained how tiring it was, doing all those exercises.
"Ugh, it's so exhausting, today had nothing to do with swimming, but with exercises, with what coach Miller said, we'll have to squeeze everything in schedule, but not swimming today? Ugh." Brandon complains.
"I know how you feel, I-" I got interrupted by the vibration from my phone, the ID caller is read, 'Daniel', "Hang on, it's Daniel."
"Let me answer." Riley said, grabbing my phone, "Hello? It's Riley, huh? You're looking for Payton? Oh, um, about that.... he's in the hospital right now. He got injured because of his clumsiness and innocence." Riley put his hand over his mouth, trying to prevent himself from laughing.
"Give it here." I whispered.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding, Payton is fine," he laughs, "but it'll be true if his personality keeps acting up, I told him that too!" I just couldn't stand watching Riley and my brother getting along by talking bad about me.
"Riley, I'm going to the bathroom." I said as I got up, Riley just nodded and waved me off.
What?! Did he fall under Daniel's spell?
I sighed and walked to the bathroom, I was the only male in there and went number one, but suddenly took a turn to number two.
Someone came into the bathroom, I saw a shadow coming passed my stall, but I didn't see his feet since the stall is more closer to to the ground, but I was sure enough that I saw the stall door I'm in, moved like the door was pressed lightly.
It creeped me out a little, but I thought it was nothing so I didn't think too much about it.
When I got out of the stall, finally, I was washing my hands, I looked up at the mirror, the stall I was in had a paper taped on it, I'm sure that it wasn't there when I went in there, I dried my hands and read the paper.
Be aware, I'm watching you!
Don't get close to others.
-To PaytonMy eyes widened, my heart dropped, my breathing gets abnormal.
I had to think, who would do this? Maybe it's a prank from one of my friends, I shouldn't jump into such conclusions.
I crumbled up the paper with anger thinking that it really was a prank and walked back to the table, Riley was still on my phone.
I opened up the crumbled paper and slammed it on the table, "Nice try, now stop pranking me."
All three looked at me confused, "Um, Daniel, we'll call you back." Riley said hanging up.
Brandon turned the paper his way so he could read it, "'Be aware, I'm watching you. Don't get close to others.'? What's this?"
"Stop pretending, one of you put it on the stall door in the boys bathroom I know it's one of you guys."
"But why would I write something like this? This sentence doesn't seem like a prank, at least not in my experience." Brandon said with a straight face.
"And... we were all here the whole time." Casey said.
"And don't you know that we have different handwritings, this person's handwriting is good, but I don't think it's you, Payton, yours is like my dad's handwriting, not very good, not bad either." Riley said thirdly, yet I couldn't even tell if he was joke or was just insulting me.
"But I wonder what kind of creepy girl would do that, she might be obsessed with you." Brandon said.
"Dude, a girl walking in the guys bathroom? No way," Riley said, "if you ask me, I'd say it might be your ex-enemy."
"Zack? Why?" I asked.
"Yeah, why would he do it?" Brandon asked.
"Well, either 1.He was our enemy, but maybe still is, or 2.He might personally like Payton. Duh."
"Why would he like me?!"
"Goodness Payton, you're so gullible." Riley closed his eyes and shook his head.
"Payton, if I were a girl, or you were a girl, I'd like you too, but sadly I'm straight." Brandon said.
"Don't worry, I won't like you in this lifetime, 'cause baby I'm straight as a ruler." I said.
"ANYWAYS," Riley said loudly, "let's get back on topic, unless Payton doesn't want to solve this note issue."
We all stared at the paper that had been written with a fountain pen.
"I'll keep it." Riley said and surprisingly actually grabbing the paper and folding it.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I'll do the work, by comparing the calligraphy of the suspect, duh, oh wait, and you guys should take the picture of this paper so that maybe if you have the chance to see someone's writing, you can compare them." Riley reasoned.
"Wow! You're really good! You should be a detective." Casey compliments Riley, assuming that he really is smarter than all of us.
"Awe naw, don't, stop," he laughs then stops, "I said don't stop."
My phone buzzed in Riley's hand, Riley looks at it, his eyes widened, "Um, Payton? You should see this."
He hands me my phone that was still on the locked screen but still shows the text message.
It was from an Unknown number.
Unknown: I see you.
I looked around the room, not being able to see who's looking at me.
Unknown: You're cute when you're sensitive.
My breathe hitched, my hands were shaking, questions were running through my mind, voices echoing.
I think I have a stalker!
A/N: Don't worry guy, I'm not going to make this novel have anything stalkerish toxic characters or anything like that, so NO harming, killing, kidnapping, etc... I've read REALLY CREEPY stalker novels, and mine can barely compare to any of them😳 So don't be too alarmed.
