You are running from the chaos behind you. The world torn apart by a virus that was released from the ice. Not paying attention to where you are going you bump into something hard. In front of you is a tree like man. His white eyes stare at you as if he didn't know what you were. Then he looks behind you. You turn around and face the death that you are running from. The zombie like thing with its rotting skin and broken body stares at you with its desperate hunger. It jumps at you, reaching for what it needs to live. There is no time for you to run as death stretches out its fingers, ready to take you as its own. Just before it's too late the tree man grabs the zombie thing and throws it somewhere into the woods. You turn around to thank him but the tree man is gone.

Some time in the near future

Hiding in a tree, the tree spirit eats the meal it needs to survive. While the humans eat each other he must eat the slithering snakes that hide in the trees the same as he does. Outside he can hear the sounds of his falling people. Some will escape but those like him will certainly die. Their spirits and bodies turned to stone by the virus as they wait for their demise.

You walk up to a tree. You need its wood to create the fortress you and a few others will use to survive. Using your tools you cut it down. After it falls you cut off the top and prepare to chop it up and be carried away.

Using the last bit of himself he frees himself from the tree landing at the feet of the person he had saved from a horrible death. The last thing he sees is the look on their face as they realize who is his.

You look at the man below you, a man you recognize. His white eyes stare at you one last time before he dies. A snake lies dead in his stony mouth and the top of his head is gone. You think over what you have done before stopping your work as the sun sets inviting the chaos to come.
