Being the new girl in town was nothing new to me. I was used to the stares and the whispers that would spread around towns every time we moved, but I guess that comes with moving into the smallest towns where gossip ruled. My dad's job always had our family being relocated.
Walking up to Kildare County High School, I watched as some heads turned to me as I made my way to the office. This one blonde-haired boy stared at me the entire time we passed each other, only breaking contact with me when his brunette friend came up from behind and playfully jumped him. Chuckling to myself, I sent him a small wave before heading inside the office.
"Your new right?" the office lady asked. "I know most faces around here and I'm pretty sure that I've never seen you in here before."
Nodding my head I said, "Yup! Just moved here a few days ago, so I'm just here to get my schedule."
As she dug through her school files to find and print my information, I looked around the office. It was cute, there were little succulants all around and the walls had frames of sunrises on the horizon. It was enough to make anyone feel comfortable coming in here.
"Here you are my dear," she said as she handed me my schedule. Giving her a small thanks, I turned to leave only to have someone slam inside the office almost hitting me in the process.
"JJ!" the office lady yelled playfully "you almost took our innocent new transfer out!"
Looking up from my spot in slight embarrassment, I made eye contact with the blonde haired boy from earlier. Both clearly recognizing each other, he gave me a side smirk as he ruffled his hair with hand making it even more unruly than before.
"Not my fault Linda" he smirked cheekishly "she should've been able to hear me coming in."
Blushing awkwardly, I let out a little laugh before quickly making my way out the door. I guess I wasn't quick enough though because an arm reached out and grabbed my backpack strap, pulling me backwards, and making me stumble.
"JJ, man! Be careful, she's way lighter than I am and you just pulled her at the same force you do to me!" A voice exclaimed.
Turning around, I was greeted with JJ who I now knew, and his brunette friend that had been with him earlier.
"Sorry about that," the brunette friend said, scratching the back of his neck. "JJ here gets a little excited sometimes when he's around pretty girls."
Scoffing JJ looked down, the tips of his ears turning red. Letting out a laugh I readjusted my backpack that had been pulled down.
"Anyways the name's John B, and obviously that's JJ, my best friend since third grade." John B said sweetly.
"Well nice to meet you boys I'm--"
"Newbie, Newb" JJ said cutting me off, as he nodded to himself. "Newbz! Since you're new here and all."
Shaking my head I knew JJ was adamant so I just went along with it. "Sure JJ, sure."
"So what class do you boys have?" I asked.
"Science 402" John B said with a groan.
"History 112" JJ said, "What about you Newbz?"
"I also have History 112!" I said with a smile. JJ's grin grew larger as he slung an arm around my shoulder before pulling me down the corrider.
"Bye Newbz!" Shouted John B as I was swept away.
"Bye John B!"
"Bye John B!" JJ yelled, mimicking me.

Chilling with the others on the HMS, I realized that I had exciting news to share with the gang. Sitting up from where I was laying next to Kie tanning, I cleared my throat to grab everyone's attention.
"What's up Newbz?" John B asked at my sudden movements.
"Guess what I just found out last night!" I said happily.
"You're not part dragon so when I wake you up accidently you can't actually blow my head off with fire?" JJ said sarcastically, knowing how I was a monster when woken up early.
"No JJ" I said rolling my eyes. "I'm staying here! My dad's job isn't relocating us for the next at least 10 years!"
John B and JJ tackled me into a hug with Kie and Pope joining in shortly after. JJ was the last to pull away from me, but he kept his arm around my shoulder.
Looking up at him I pouted slightly, "Can we change my nickname from Newbz now that I'm staying?"
Smirking slightly to himself he shook his head, "Do you like princess better?"
