Chapter 14 The Accident

Arthit woke up with his surrounding all white. Then he saw his mom and dad. "Where am I? Mom what are we doing here? Why does it hurt all over as if I have been run over by a truck? Mom where is Kongpob?"
"Arthit calm yourself first you i are in the hospital, you and Kongpob had an accident." Hearing his mom's words panic took him and nervously said "Mom I need to see Kongpob, where is he, I want to know if he is okay?" Arthit was trying to get up to look for his Kong, when the doctor came in and seeing Arthit's reaction decided to inject him with tranquilizer to calm him.

Kongpob who shielded Arthit from the accident was still in ICU and in coma. His parents were outside ICU awaiting news regarding Kongpob's condition. The Suthiluck's went to Arthit's room to visit and check the latter's condition. "The police report is out and it was found out that the other driver lost control of the car so he crashed to Arthit and Kong's car. " Kongpob's dad was telling Arthit's parents, he also asked regarding Arthit's condition whether the latter has woken up and looked for his son. Arthit stirred from his bed calmer called out to his mom."Ma, can you now answer my questions? Where is Kong? How is he doing?" Kongpob's family went beside Arthit's bed and said. "Arthit don't be shocked but Kong is still in ICU he is safe but in coma. We do not know when he will be awake." Arthit cried while apologizing to Kong's parents saying he should have paid more attention while his beloved was driving. Mrs. Suthiluck hugged Arthit and assured him that it was an accident and not his fault at all. "My dear son do not worry yourself, it was not your fault so not blame yourself. We are also not blaming you, we know how much you love Kong. What we ask you is to try to recover faster, that is what Kongpob would want. We are here to support you and Kongpob."

After a few days Arthit was finally discharged from the hospital. He went to Kongpob who was still in ICU. "Kong please wake up na... I am missing you so much. If yoi haven't shielded me during the accident you wouldn't be here right now." After a few days Kongpob's condition improved and he was transferred to a regular room, where Arthit was ready to take care of his Kongpob.

During the day Arthit would report for work taking over Kongpob's responsibility and would go to the hospital replacing his beloved's mother and take care of his Nong. Kongpob's mom would always make sure that Arthit has eaten before and leaves and in the morning before Arthit reports for work.

Arthit would sit beside Kongpob's bed and would tell him how his day went "Hey Kong I almost came in late at the office today. There was so much traffic, no wonder you always wake me up early and leave our home earlier. The project we have been working on has been approved already and we are now doing the proto type. And remember, the news I was telling you about Sam? He is getting married to P' Som-O, the Secretary of P'Danai at Ocean Electric. We are invited to the wedding, so you need to wake up na... We will attend so you won't get jealous of P'Sam. Kong don't worry I will stay by your side until you wake up and I will take care of you until you have recovered. But when you wake you need to make it up to me for sleeping on me. "

Every day theor routine was like than until the 2nd weekend Kong was in the hospital, Arthit was telling his Nong stories when a finger moved and slowly they saw Kongpob opening his eyes. "Kongpob he is Arthit your boyfriend."his dad explained, Kongpob's eyes widened "Me in a male to male relationship? When did I get involved. I was never interested in those kind of relationship. I want him out of here. I don't believe this Dad, is this some kind of a joke?"
Everyone was shocked at Kongpob's reaction.  Kongpob's mom gave Arthit a hug comforting him and telling him that everything will be okay. The doctors came in and checked Kongpob. "Your son is suffering from temporary selective amnesia. It is tempory in nature and only certain part of his memories were suppressed. He may not recognize certain people or events, it may completely go back after monthd or years."

Arthit was too stunned to even react, he was so confused as to what he would be doing? He excused himself and told Kongpob's mom that he needs to clear his head and think about the whole situation.
