Sam walked out to her truck at three AM. She couldn't wait to get home and take a shower. The bar was closing and she'd sobered up. The girls had her drinking a lot tonight. She had to start turning them down earlier than normal to make sure she could get home safely. She'd just put her hand on the door handle when Kyle and his friends walked out the doors, laughing and stumbling.

Great. Drunks she had to make take a cab. This was going to be fun. Sam turned to the trio. "Alright boys, hand me your keys." She said as she got to them, holding her hand out. "I'll call a cab and make sure you get home." She looked at the guy she'd sang to at the stop light. He smiled and held up two sets of keys.

"Way ahead of you, Sam. I stopped drinking hours ago. Just like you." He jingled them in the air. How did he know when she'd stopped drinking?

She eyed him warily. "Are you sure? I don't want to see you three on the news in the morning. It'll look really bad for Benny's." She gave him a smile. Was she flirting with him? Sam hadn't flirted in almost two years. She dropped her hand to her side.

"I'm sure, Benny's won't have that problem." He chuckled and Kyle almost fell over in front of them, causing them both to laugh.

"If you're sure." She said as she turned away.

"Wait, Sam." She turned to look at him. The man was all hard muscle. Bigger than his friends. His blue eyes bore into hers. He hesitated for a second. "Ah, want to help me get them in the truck?" He asked as Liam leaned against his back. She watched him fake like he stumbled forward, like the weight was too much for him. Sam rolled her eyes and laughed.

"Fine." She went back over to them and grabbed Kyle around the waist. He was the smallest of the three and stupid drunk. Kyle stumbled as she held him up. "Come on, Kyle. You have to help me a little." She grunted as she held his weight off of the ground.

"Sam, you smell so good. Like roses and liquor." He slurred and put his head in her hair.

"Geez, Kyle, you're just as pigheaded shit faced as you are sober." She commented as they got to the truck. She pulled the door to the chevy open and pushed Kyle up onto the seat. He barely made it. After her and the sober one got the two drunks in the cab, she shut the doors.

When she turned around the guy was standing there smiling at her. "You're stronger than you look." He mused.

Sam shrugged. "Years of hauling hay bales." She let her eyes run over his large shoulders and thick arms. Her mouth started to water. Why did she get the sudden urge to lick him? "You're pretty strong yourself." Honesty was the best policy.

"Gym." He smiled. She nodded and they stood there for a moment. What was she supposed to do now? Did she want him to ask for her number? He stuck his hand out. "Sorry, I'm Levi. Levi Steel."

Sam took his hand. A tingling heat traveled up her arm at his touch. How had she not realized they hadn't been introduced? And he was a Steel? What was he doing on this side of town? His kind did run in her circles. "I'm Samantha Hudson. Just call me Sam." They shook hands and when he let go she started to feel cold, even though it was in the middle of Summer and hot in Tennessee.

"I hate to be one of those guys, but I'd really love to get your number." He put an arm up, pretending to protect himself. "Don't hurt me." They laughed together.

"I won't as long as you keep your hands to yourself." She got out between laughs. "I don't know if I should give you my number. I don't know you yet. If you're anything like your friends, then..." Sam let the sentence hang in the air, looking over at his truck but what was stopping her, was his name. The last time she'd dated someone of his caliber, she'd been burned.

"Yeah, I get it. I promise, I'm not like them, but if you aren't comfortable then I understand." He nodded to her. "Well, I hope to see you around, Sam." Levi gave her a killer grin and she felt her heart flutter. What the heck was this guy doing to her? She waved at him and went to her truck. When she climbed in she watched him pull out and then started her truck.

Damn, that guy was hot as hell. Did she make a mistake not giving him her number? She thought about it as she pulled out as well. No, guys like him only wanted one thing and she wasn't interested in giving guys anything. Besides, the Steel brothers were notorious playboys. They got into more trouble than anyone else in Nashville.

It wasn't long before she was behind his truck. She smiled as he stuck his hand out and waved at her. Sam shook her head at his silliness. The light changed to green and they went off again.

Levi turned on every road she had to turn on and she started to get nervous that he would think she was following him. At the next red light he stopped and she was surprised when his door opened and he jumped out. Sam rolled her window down as he ran back to her. Luckily the roads were bare this time of morning.

"Can't get enough of me, huh?" He said as he leaned against her truck. She laughed at him.

"You wish. It just so happens that I live out this way." She rolled her eyes.

"Sure." He said as he started back to his truck. Walking backwards, he smiled at her. "I do wish, Sam." Levi turned and got back into his truck. He pulled off and she just laughed at his boldness. The man was definitely confident but she guessed if you grew up a Steel you had to be. He's probably never been turned down by a woman before either. She followed behind him for a few more roads before she got to her driveway. He honked when she turned in and he drove away.

Sam laughed as she turned the truck's engine off then got out and locked the doors, engaging the alarm. This wasn't the nicest part of town. She could only afford so much on her bartender salary and tips. Plus her morning job at the diner. Which she needed to go get ready for. After Ryan had cheated she'd been left with an outrageous rent.

Her only option had been to move and find something cheaper, but at least she didn't have to look at his office anymore. She unlocked the door and went inside. Time for a shower and then she would need to get ready for breakfast at the diner.
