Levi stepped out of his private jet. He didn't want to be back in Nashville. He didn't want to chance running into Sam after five years of successfully staying away from her. He never once stopped thinking about her, but Liam and Vee were getting married and he wasn't going to miss one of his closest friends' weddings.

The problem was, he knew Sam would be there. How could she not be? She wouldn't miss her best friend's wedding. Levi took a deep breath and started for the car waiting for him. He'd waited until the last possible moment to come. Staying in a hotel a couple of states over until the day arrived.

It was time for the wedding and he was on his way to see Sam again. His heart started to race. Excited but nervous at the same time. What would he say to her? Could he avoid her through the whole thing? He kind of hoped he could. It would be so much easier if he didn't have to talk to her.

The car pulled up to the church faster than he liked. He didn't feel like he'd had time to prepare for seeing her. The church parking lot was full. People mulled around everywhere. The car stopped at the front of the building and he got out. After straightening his jacket he took a deep breath and started for the doors.

He just needed to get through this and get out of the country, fast. Quickly, he made his way through the church. Only stopping once to ask for directions to the groom's room. He knocked on the door.

"It's open!" Kyle's voice yelled from inside. Once he shut the door behind him, he let out the breath he'd been holding. "Levi! What's up, man?" Kyle came over and hugged him. Levi went over to Liam who was tying up his tie.

"You figured it out." He clapped him on the shoulder.

"I better have after five years." Liam teased. They laughed together.

"How's Vee?" He wanted to ask about Sam but he didn't. He never did. The last thing he needed was everyone asking questions about how he felt about her.

"She was good when I saw her yesterday morning." Liam said.

"Did y'all really do the whole 'Don't see each other the night before' thing? That's a little old school isn't it?" Levi raised a brow at his friend.

"Her parents are old school. You know that." He did. If Brad and Angela were anything, it was old school.

"How are you getting along with her father now?" In the beginning, Vee's father had hated Liam. He even tried to pay the guy off, but when the crazy amount of money was turned down? Brad couldn't help but admit the man was in love with his daughter. It didn't mean they were friends but at least he tolerated him now.

"It's getting better. He isn't as snappy and he paid for this whole thing. Vee and I both didn't really want anything this big. We wanted something small but her mother wouldn't listen. We're just letting them do whatever so that we can live our lives in peace afterward. Vee says it's just a day and not to be worried about it. I love that woman."

Levi smiled at his friend. He had no doubt in his mind that Liam loved Vee, if he put up with her parents then that was all the proof anyone needed of it. Someone knocked on the door.

"It's time, Liam." They gathered their things and headed to the chapel. After everyone was in their places, the music started. Levi stood behind Kyle at the front. Kyle was the best man. He knew that Sam was going to be a bridesmaid. People started to oh and ah, and he tried not to look up at the girls walking into the room.

He knew he would see her. Levi kept his eyes locked onto the back of Kyle's head. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the girls lining up across from them. He couldn't tell which one was Sam. His heart started to race. Maybe he couldn't do this. The wedding march started and he knew he needed to look back at the bride. It was her day and it would be rude not too. At least that's what he told himself.
