Eleanor stared at the plack screwed the wall that read 'Drama Club.' She wasn't sure when the after school activity was supposed to be over but Eleanor was prepared to wait. She could already hear voices coming from inside but they were all muffled. Her hand reached out towards the handle to take it. The door slowly opened with a little creak. The many different voices filled her ears but then faded away. Eleanor poked her head inside, seeing two groups of animals, in white shirts and red pants or shorts, on opposite sides of the room. She quickly stepped inside the whole way and looked around the room, spotting Sheila.

A pelican with round glasses turned around after noticing everyone looking behind him. "Oh hello," He said, surprised. "What can I help you with?" The pelican asked Eleanor. She opened her mouth but she couldn't sputter out an actual sentence. Everyone was looking at her intensely.

"I um, I was just, I-" Eleanor tried to speak but Sheila thankfully spoke up and talked for her.

"She's here to wait for me. Also, she was here to check out the drama club, she might want to join, right Eleanor?" Eleanor nodded. Although she didn't have time to think and clubs weren't really her thing. Back in her other life she just wanted to get through high school, clubs would only take up more time.

"Oh yes, the costume department sounds interesting, actually. Eleanor said, looking at Sheila for confirmation that there actually was a thing called the 'costume department.' The pelican spoke again.

"Yes well, how about we talk when I'm done here." He said and Eleanor nodded then left. He seemed busy and she didn't want to impose so she leaned against a wall and waited.

Not long after, the pelican emerged from behind the door. Eleanor stood up straight and faced him. "So, Eleanor was it, you say you want to join the drama club." He continued to slowly walk down the hall. Eleanor followed.

"I," She started but then changed her approach, "Well, Sheila is actually my new roommate. I just came to this school yesterday and she suggested I join a club. When she told me about the drama club and the costume department it seemed like a nice Idea to join." Eleanor explained. The pelican hummed.

"Tell me more." He insisted. Eleanor's brain went blank for a second. What was she supposed to tell more about? That's all she had to say.

"I actually love to make and design clothes. Clothes help people express what's on the inside by wearing certain clothes on the outside," She paused to look at the pelican. He was looking straight ahead, no emotion. "And, I think that the costumes can really amplify the character's personality without using words. It would be great to help bring the characters to life." Eleanor almost said that as a question, she wasn't sure if the pelican would agree so she just said what she thought was true. He nodded and stopped walking.

"I think you would be a great addition to our costume team. Your mind would be greatly needed if we were to put on a new play. You can come in tomorrow. Louis should be there, he's the drama club officer. I'm sure he'll help finalize your position by putting you to work somehow. Don't worry about that though." Eleanor nodded, showing she understood. "I hope to see you soon, Eleanor," said the pelican before picking up his speed and walking away. Eleanor wasn't sure if that was a genuine sentence or not. Students now started to file out of the drama room and Sheila made her way over to Eleanor.

"So, how did it go?" Sheila and Eleanor started to walk down the hall together. Eleanor looked down at the papers still in her hands pretending to read something.

"Well I got in. At least I think I am. Tomorrow I have to meet up with Louis so he can finalize my position." Eleanor used air quotes around the last three words.
