Strange Love

Chapter 6~Sewing Duty

     Eleanor walked next to Legoshi, her hands behind her back. She looked up at him before looking forward again, pushing some strands of hair behind her ear. Out of the corner of her eye she could see the tall wolf glance at her over and over. Eleanor smiled at the shy wolf's behavior before once again, the wolf shifted his eyes to the smaller human. Eleanor looked at him, catching him in the act. "Gotcha. " Eleanor said in a teasing tone. Legoshi quickly looked away.

     "Sorry." He muttered, scratching the back of his neck. Eleanor lightly giggled as the two turned right, now making their way to a metal door that led outside.

     "You're pretty shy." Eleanor observed as she walked through the door Legoshi was holding open for her.

     "I, um-" Legoshi started but Eleanor cut him off.

"Sorry, I didn't think I said that out loud." Her hand covered her mouth. "I'm the same way I guess." She said trying to reel her accidental blurt back in some way. Eleanor didnt think she would actually every say it but it was an attempt to make the conversation less awkward then it needed to be. ALegoshi's ears perked up in interest.

     "Y-You are?" Legoshi asked, the two of them walking around the building. "I wouldn't have guessed." Legoshi said. Eleanor's eyebrows frowned in confusion.

"Really?" She asked. Legoshi slowly nodded. Eleanor hummed. The wolf looked at her once again. Eleanor could almost feel the awkwardness continuing  to form between them. "So what do you do?" Eleanor asked.

     "Huh?"

     "In the drama club, I mean."

     "I do lights."

     "Oh cool. So you get to stand in the catwalk and stuff?"

     "Yeah. Along with," Legoshi paused. "Other things, I guess."

     The two made it to the back of the building. Lights, props, costumes, and other things were learned and piled against the wall. They walked up to the clothing racks. Eleanor looked through them, feeling the different fabrics and looking at the different colors.

     "Usually if something needs repairing we hang it on this end." Legoshi explained then walked over to the opposite end of the rack before taking a handful of clothes off the rack. "Um, here." He said holding them out to Eleanor.

     "Thanks, Legoshi." Eleanor could feel Legoshi tense when she grabbed the clothes from his extended hand. "I'll need some needles and thread too. Mind showing me where they are." Eleanor asked.

     "They're ust over here." Legoshi said. He then walked over to a small brown wooden chest near some of the propsl. He kneeled down and opened it up revealing many different colored threads and many different sized needles.

     "Okay, let's see." Eleanor said to herself while she bent over to look inside. Legoshi moved over a bit letting Eleanor kneel down next to him. She smells really good. Legoshi thought to himself before his eyes widened and he lightly shook his head. Wait, what am I thinking? Eleanor filed through the six different articles of clothing.

     "It looks like I'll probably need green, red, white, and blue. " Eleanor grabbed the four thread colors before grabbing two different sized needles just to be safe. A few of the clothes were almost the same color so it seemed she would only need a few different thread colors. "There we go." She said and stood up straight. Legoshi closed the chest before standing up too. Eleanor smoothed out her dress before looking up at the wolf. "Thanks for leading me out here." Eleanor then smiled at Legoshi as the two began to walk back around the corner.

     "Yeah, no problem." Eleanor looked at the sun which was ready to disappear over the horizon. Legoshi followed her gaze but then spoke like the sun reminded him of his plains. "I gotta get going. See you tomorrow." Legoshi said and Eleanor nodded and watched him walk inside. Eleanor breathed in the cold air before making her way to her dorm.

     Eleanor sighed again when her fingers found another hole in the clothing. "What is it?" Kyoko looked up at Eleanor who was sitting on her bed, legs dangling over the edge.

     "I found another hole that needs to be fixed with black thread. I really should have grabbed some." The other colors came in handy but Eleanor didn't think she would need black thread this badly. "I'm gonna go grab some." Eleanor got up and put on her shoes. In her mind, if she was able to get something done sooner than that's what she did. Why wait to do something when you have the time now?

     "It's alredy dark out. Are you sure?" Anne asked but Eleanor nodded.

     "I'll be quick, no need to worry. Go to sleep you guys." Eleanor walked out of the room and locked the door behind her. She quietly hummed a random toon as she headed down that stairs and walked out of the nearest exit. It was foggy and the cool air also gave her arms goosebumps. Okay, left then straight if I remember correctly. Eleanor thought to herself before turning and walking in that direction.

     After a minute or two the sound of running water reached her ears. Eleanor sighed a little. I can barely see. She squinted as if it would make a difference but it didn't. After another couple of steps she reached the fountain and stopped. It seemed almost like a marker telling her she was almost there. Now, if I keep going straight I'll end up- Eleanor tensed when she heard what sounded like a low grunt. Looking in the direction she could barely see the glow of the lights on the building in front of her. "Hello?" Eleanor called out but got nothing in return. She cautiously began to walk again but, the next thing she knew she was tumbling to the ground

     Legoshi paced back and forth as he waited for the deer and the goat to finish their secret rehearsal. Come on guys hurry up. If we get caught, the drama club will get shut down. I'll probably get suspended too. Legoshi stopped walking when he heard the chirp of a small, green, grasshopper. He bent down to gently pick it up. "Hello little guy." Legoshi almost whispered to the insect.

     Breathing in, Legoshi caught the familiar smell of vanilla and lemon. After letting the grasshopper go, he stood up again. It's the human girl again, Eleanor.

     His ears strained to hear the girl but nothing entered his ears. Then something snapped in him. His body filled with adrenaline and his eyes narrowed. His heart raced like it never had before. Without thinking he crouched low to the ground, getting ready to run.

     "Hello?" Legoshi heard the girl ask but he wasn't going to answer. The sound of footsteps began and Legoshi ran towards the girl and pounced onto her when he came close enough. The two tumbled to the ground before they came to an abrupt stop, by Legoshi. The human girl trapped in the gray wolf's arms.
