Marina was meant for greatness, or at least that's what her mother used to always tell her. That was until her father died and sickness was slowly killing the only person she had left. And when you know you are close to losing everything, you start making bad decisions.
The day she got the call that her father had died from a drug overdose was one of the happiest days of her life. She felt happy. She felt relieved. She was finally free from all the mental and physical abuse he put her through for the past 15 years of her life.
However, nice things never last long. When her mother became sick, all the happiness that she had gained quickly disappeared. And she was forced to look after her as her mother started to progressively get worse.
At the young age of 16, Marina learnt that she could use her looks to seduce rich men and steal their money in order to pay for her mothers medication. It was quite easy once she figured out the correct amount of drugs to knock them out for a few hours.
Rich, married men were always her targets because when they realised their money was gone they would be too afraid to go the the police because they knew that their wives would find out; inevitably leaving or ruining them. And that would just be a whole other shit show that they did not want to get into. So, they just let it be...they were rich after all.
After four years, Marina finally managed to afford surgery for her mother. Her hopes were high when she realised she wouldn't have to seduce another old, married man ever again.
But during surgery her mothers heart wasn't strong enough to get through the procedure and she passed away on the surgical table only a few hours in.
Marina's whole world came crashing down that day right in front of her eyes and once again, she felt strapped inside her own mind. She was alone and didn't have anyone to turn to now that her mother was gone.
So she did the only thing she knew how to do...steal shit loads of cash from a rich, married guys and leave the country so she could ignore her problems instead of facing them.
Yeah. She really fucked up on that one.
She was too stuck in her mind and grieving to actually do research on the man she was about to rob. Leading to the fact that she didn't know that the man had already gotten a divorce a month prior and didn't give a shit about what his ex-wife thought.
Long story short, she'd been on the run for two weeks and the police were finally starting to close in on her. The was until her guardian angel came to her aid in the mystery section of a small book store and invited her to be apart of a heist .
Running out of options and time, she agreed.
Her old life had ended, but her new one was just beginning.

Author's note~
Hey guys!!
I really hope that you enjoyed this chapter. This was just a look into her past and there will be more on the in the future.
The next chapter, you will be meeting the rest of the cast and I'm super excited for Milan and Rio to meet each other and for their friendship to blossom.
I want to try to make Milan and Rio's relationship different to his and Tokyo's, so I will be adding scenes (but also keeping some scenes) of them together and how their friendship started before the actual heist. Those scenes will be incorporated throughout the book.
Please feel free to give me advice on how I can improve my writing!!
Until next time...
~El
