So in a previous rant about the house called hell, I briefly said that my house is haunted. And now I want to talk about that and other supernatural stuff in my local area.
First, just to preface a few things. I'm an atheist and someone highly sceptic to anything that can't be scientifically proven. I'm also not superstitious, with some exceptions. But I have experienced things, and others I know have experienced things that makes me believe there are things we do not yet know. What you want to call that other things is up to you. An afterlife, ghosts, wraiths or a leprechaun. I like to think of it as some sort of energy living beings can leave behind in places of personal significance. So in that sense I do believe in the supernatural to some extent. Anyways, on to the stories, there are a few.
The first few won't directly be tied to my house, but the local area. And the very first isn't even something I have experienced, but something that several family members and their friends have experienced. It is located to this one very specific cove that is in the middle of a Nazi base from WW2. This base was built by prisoners of war, mostly Soviets. This being Nazis, the prisoners were not treated well. So maybe some of that pain remains.
The area is only a few meters wide, and it isn't near where you would travel regularly. But some trips takes you through it. I haven't gone there because I've always been told to avoid that area. The reason for that is if you walk through there you get this overwhelming and uncomfortable feeling. You get a headache, you become nauseous and you don't feel welcome. I'll rather continue to take the extra minute on my trip rather than to test it out.
Alright, moving away from uncomfortable feelings in weird places and onto more physical things in buildings. My family's property is relatively large considering we live in a city. There's the house me and my parents and siblings live in that was built by my great-grandfather after the war. Then on technically another property, there is the house my grandparents live in along with a now vacant apartment and garages. Outside of this we have a building built from the material of the old barn, an even older storage building used when the area produced dried fish, a small boathouse and a larger boathouse that was used to transport dried fish in the past. The latter of these buildings is the focus of this next story.
Our family has been redecorating this boathouse for years now. Changing the roof, fixing the second floor, installing sola-panels and changing out the old floor. And we still have job to do still. Anyway, this event happened a few years back when the second floor was being fixed. My dad wanted to hang up some posters to liven the place up a bit. Since we were starting to have a few lunches there when the weather was nice.
So here my father was. Alone with a few posters and some tack-its or whatever they're called. He puts some of the tack-it on the first poster and hangs it on the wall. He does a quick check to see if it sits well before turning around to put up the second poster. And as soon as he looks away he hears the poster fall to the floor. He thinks that he probably didn't check well enough and picks up the poster, but he can't find the tack-it he used to hang up the poster. Not on the poster, the wall nor the floor, it was gone.
Of course my dad was a bit puzzled by this, but he decided to try again. New tack-it, same poster, same place. This time he checked thoroughly and doubled checked to see if it was stuck on the wall. It was so he moved on to the next poster. Same thing then happens, poster falls behind him, tack-it nowhere to be seen.
My father tries again, really puzzled now. He really check to see if the poster is tuck to the wall, even pulling on it slightly. The poster stays on so my dad once again turns around to the next poster. Then the first poster falls to the floor without any tack-it to be seen, again. By this point my dad left the boathouse and told my mother what had happened. We ended up choosing to not have posters in the boathouse.
