So sony revealed their newest playstation recently and I'm pumped! I have always been someone who prefers playstation so I might be biased, but I'm looking forwards to this. And not only that, but we also got a whole new line of games, which looked amazing. And I can't wait to get my hands on some of them. So I'll just ramble on about what I think of the whole thing.
First of, the design. Something I'm not yet sure about myself. I mean, it is very different from the previous consoles. It's mostly white, while previous iterations have been mostly black. So that is a big change. The controller is vastly different and looks more like an xbox controller in shape if you ask me. But that doesn't mean its' bad by any means. And then you have the console itself which look like the most futuristic shit I've ever seen. While the new xbox series x (dumb name if you ask me) is just a box, the ps5 looks like something aliens play games on. And I don't know how to feel about that. On one side it seems like they always try to find new exiting ways to make dustcleaning difficult and I can't imagine this fitting in well with other things under my TV. Then, on the other side, just look. It just looks beautiful.
And what they promise with this console is nothing to scoff at either. I don't know all the specs of it, but what I've heard is more than good enough if you ask me. I don't care if the xbox will be more powerful, I want the games. In which case, it is good that they seem to plan having full ps4 playback abilities. So that I can just put in any ps4 game and play them with even better quality on the ps5. And being able to play in full 4k with at least 60fps does sound really great. All I need is a TV that can show 4k.
As I said, it is the games I care about the most. And boy did they show some games. I won't mention every one since not all games where games I would like. At the same time there were games that I might like depending on what the hell they are about. Pragmata, solar ash and returnal. I don't feel like they showed much gameplay or how exactly they will be like, but I'll pay attention.
Then there where the games that I found interesting, but have to see how they play out. Little devil inside, Jett: the far shore, Kena: Bridge of the spirits, Project Athia, and stray. They all seemed like nice stylish games that I might enjoy. Although, I'll wait until reviews start coming until I decide to play them or not.
Then there is the big boys. The games that I know I'll love and that I'm really looking forwards to. Mostly because they are all sequels to games I love, so I already know what to expect. So let's just jump right into it.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
The ratchet and clank games are just fun. Fun cartoonish 3d platform, action, adventure shooters. The gameplay for these games are more or less always great in my experience. And this game seems to take all of that and just make it bigger and better. Now you can use portals and rifts in fights and that just sounds great. You just added some of the mechanincs from Portal and put it in with what was already great gameplay. Just give it to me already!
Oh, and the story is probably alright too. Not my main focus for these games
Spider-man: Miles Morales
Oh my, I did not expect to see this game so soon. I mean, we knew another game in the same universe would come after Spiderman(ps4). But this soon, I was not expecting that. But I was expecting not to expect something so it doesn't count. Although, that also gives me the feeling that this will be more of a side story than a full sequel. Much like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Not that that is bad in any sense of the word. I'm exited to play more within this universe and from another viewpoint as well. I'm sold.
Horizon: Forbidden West
And I saved the best for last. The sequel to one of my favourite games on the ps4, Horizo: zero dawn. I have been waiting for a sequel ever since the credits rolled on the first game, and now its' here. Well, the trailer is. To be honest, this game alone would have sold me on the ps5 with just how much I loved the first game. And boy does it look that this sequel will bring everything I would have wanted. A whole new map to explore, going into the forbidden west from the first game. New enemies, new threats and a continuation of the awsome story from the first game. Just shut up and take my money!
So yeah, I'm exited for this. Next year will be a great year for gaming, I can feel it. The only thing that this reveal could have done to make me even more hyped would have been to reveal the next god of war. And until I get a title, I'm gonna call it God of war 2: Thor, electric boogaloo. But anyways, this next generation of consoles will bring a lot of new and exiting games. And I'm looking forward to it.
