(12:40 @ SCHOOL)

“Okay, so this is what’s gonna happen!” She shouted frightening most of the drowsy classmates and cutting her ‘semi-successful doodling session’ short.

“Together with your literature partner you are to hand in an essay about one another, keep it clean ladies and gentlemen. I expect descriptive words, I expect expressive words, use punctuation and make sure to stick to the topic. I won’t announce the due date, I may ask for it in 45 minutes, hours or days. We may never know. Class behaviour determines just how much of a dick I can be with regards to the due dates and times.”

Mrs Blair announced handing out rubrics to the whole class as her red bottoms clicked and clacked echoing around the disinterested students, who grunted and groaned at her demanding high pitched tone.

The class was packed as expected, it had to be. They learned that the hard way on their first few weeks in Mrs Blair’s class when she unleashed a series of dissiplinary warnings and then it sunk in, she wasn’t a teacher to be fucked with.
She wasn’t a bad teacher, just really strict when it came to her job.

She would purposely set a class test if majority of the class would ditch and it was known that she would even go as far as making students do hard assignments as a pass to qualify to write the actual exams each semester.

Her classes were boring but the threat of possibly not graduating had this year’s Literature 101 students constantly on their toes, Anaies was one of them.

“Well there’s something else to add in that list of things we hate about Blair” Angel whispered beside Ana startling her a bit. She had been so out of it that she hadn’t even felt Angel move beside her until she spoke up.

“Bruh, if we’re gonna keep studying like this we’ll get crazy in a matter of months” Ana whispered a response back to her best friend.

It has been a solid 4 years since Angel and Ana met in the hallway that first day of school and she's enjoyed every moment spent with her.

“We are locker neighbours? “ She questioned smiling at Ana. Ana didn’t really understand what was up with the oddly happy girl standing right next to her but she chose to brush it off and play along with this whole ‘friendly thing’.

“Oh… uhm… Yeah” she said shrugging off the feeling of anxiety and shyness as she internally debated on what else to say to the nice girl without sounding too weird.

She was too engaged fighting with her own tongue to realise that 15 seconds had passed and her mouth was still agape searching for the words that would sound a bit better as a response.

Wow, you know for a person who doesn’t want to be called weird in high-school, you sure are being weird in high-school‘ She internalized her own verbal fight with the mysterious voice in her head, the voices were not that mysterious really, she just happened to stay in her head so long the voices started talking back to her.

She knew she was an introvert, she knew that she would have a hard time making friends but she didn’t give a shit, she just preferred to stay out of people’s lives so much that she developed a fuck free zone around her.

A brightly lit Wakanda-Like barrier round her everywhere she went and to her luck nobody ever interrupted her peace and she'd prefer peace to anything social.

Words didn’t hurt her, actions didn’t really faze her, she would just relax and handle the situation calmly and effectively it’s the small talk that she couldn’t handle.
