ANA’S P. O. V
(Midday)

Saturday, my second favourite day of the week after Friday’s of course. I get to wake up as late as I want, I get to plan on doing nothing and I just love not going to school, period.

Today though is not rest day, I have to get groceries because surviving on fast food has been chopping up my budget. I hate having to step out and run errands, but I love when I come back and relax after running those pesky errands so now I have to get dressed and get going.

I decided to go simple with grey joggers, a white Tee and my Nike Slides because I didn’t feel like dressing up to begin with.
20 minutes later I was at the local supermarket trailing behind an empty cart.
Maybe I should have gotten a grocery list because I’m losing interest walking around like a headless chicken when all I’ve grabbed are kettle boiled chips and Toilet paper.

I keep having this feeling like I’m being watched, so I keep pushing past the isles all weird and distracted.

I decided to stop walking and take a moment to just calm the hell down and breathe in the cereal aisle. My anxiety is on high right now, but I get it in check when I remember I’m almost out of breakfast supplies and I get to shopping.

15 minutes and an almost full cart later I had
done it. I hated it but it’s done now so I get ready to checkout when someone knocks my ankle with a cart and I lose my shit.

“Ahh! yow what the fuck!” I shout in agonizing pain causing the old lady in front of me to look at me crazy. Oh okay let’s see how you’d react if a crazy person rammed your fragile ankle grown bitch.

I turn to the person and I see a very worried stud. She pulls her cart aside and comes close to assess the damage she’s caused and on instinct I pull my leg away making her lift her head in concern and our eyes meet.

Not bad.

My anger didn’t subside but after she looked at me, I was a little understanding, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t in pain anymore, so I frowned at her.

“I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking” she said, I searched her face for dishonesty and was confused when I found none. So I took a deep breath and calmed down.

“Oh I can see and feel that” I said as I turned my head to scan my stuff and swipe to pay.

There was silence from her while I got everything done, there was simple silence as I made my way to the car until I heard that same voice call after me.
I didn’t want to turn so I kept walking to my car. She might not even be calling for me. I opened the trunk and got my groceries in when the stud walked up to me again. Her eyes were much greener now that she was in front of me, watching me, licking her lips.
“Uhm I’m Taylor I’d like to get to know you better, even though I kinda messed that up when I sliced your chins” she added nervously scratching her neck, so I smiled and offered her a hand.

“Anaies, and that shit hurt” I laughed and closed the trunk. When Taylor noticed that I was about to leave she gave me her phone and asked me to save my number on it, I did just that and handed the phone back to her and walked to the driver’s side of my car.

“Uhm, I gotta go, text, don’t call” I said. She looked up at me and said “Insecure girlfriend?” that made me chuckle a little bit as I opened the door.

“Na, anti-social” I shrugged and jumped in and started the car. I looked at the mirror and I could still see her standing there, what, is she waiting for me to leave? I asked myself, but waved just to be nice, I pulled out the parking spot and drove to my next stop.

The internet café wasn’t that far, it was just a block away from the supermarket. I took my hard drive and made it inside when I saw a pamphlet stuck to the door written “NEW CENTER COMING SOON” I shrugged it off because it didn’t make sense to me so I walked up to the counter and gave the guy my hard drive and told him which file to print and paid.
Mrs Blair’s written essay was probably due on Monday so I didn’t want to wait till the last minute to get it done so I had to find this spot to print.
