I adjust my camera to make sure the exposure is just right as Josh shuffles through the shirts on his half of the closet. He turns around and finds me fiddling with the buttons.

"Hey, you finally took it out of the box!" He points out before putting on a black "mouse rat" shirt.

"Yeah, figured it could come in handy..."

"I still can't believe Super Girl sent you that for your birthday." I smile at his disbelief as I continue to adjust the settings. "Actually scratch that, I still can't believe Super Girl's like your aunt!"

Aunt Kara couldn't come to our 16th birthday surprise party, but she was kind enough to send me a camera and Bree one of those drafting tables. You know those tables with a slanted surface so artists aren't hunched over as much.

Last time she saw us, I carried my old camera with me everywhere while Bree was really into sketching. But with everything that's happened this summer, we've kind of neglected those hobbies of ours.

Bree puts the red coloring pencil away, before she picks out a bright yellow one. The pencil touches the paper and pretty soon she's filling out the fused lightning-snowflake symbol from her suit. She was drawing a cartoon version of her superhero self. Her alter ego, who still didn't have a cool code name.

She casually looks out her open bedroom window, happy it was finally sunny again. After all that rain, the grass on their front yard was a beautiful shade of green. Everyone could do outdoor summer things again. She could even hear someone skateboarding down the street. But just as she looks back at the paper, the skateboarding sound stops.
