Stunden (Student)I want to clarify that every 'things' has a gender too. In german, they separated the masculine, feminine and neutral to each other.

Tafel = Board (mini)
Kreide = Chalk
Landkarte = Map (land)
Farbstifte = Pencils
Filzstifte = Ballpens
Sportsachen = Sportsbag
Turnschuhe = Shoes (Sport)C. Neutrum
ein (mein, dein)Heft = Paper
Buch = Book
Lineal = Ruler
Mäppchen = Case (Pencil&ballpenONLY)Did you recognice the ein and eine? How about the mein_meine and dein_deine?

N- dasYou're going to use that according to it's gender.
Ex. 1 for M
Der ist mein bleistift
This is my Pencil
-Bleistift is maskulinum so you need to use 'mein'.Ex. 2 for F
Die ist meine Tasche
This is my Bag
-Tasche is femininum so you need to use 'meine'.Alles klar???
