Y/N eventually woke up in her bed, her arm in agony. She winced softly in pain, her eyes opening slightly to see the demon sat beside her on the edge of her bed. "Beetle-.." She said before she was cut off.
"Shh.. it's okay." He said in a soothing tone.
The young woman exhaled softly. "Did you..?" She gently pulled her sleeve up, seeing her arm properly bandaged.
"No.. it was the Maitlands." He said.
"Who?" Y/N asked in confusion, looking at him.
The poltergeist sighed. "The ghosts in the attic. You fainted but I caught you and then I had to call for them because.. I don't know first aid."
"How did you catch me..?" She asked.
"Well.. uh, I was outside of the bathroom coz I heard you crying.." He mumbled, looking down at the floor. "I got worried so I came into the bathroom just before you fell."
"You got worried..?" She asked in a soft voice, looking at him. No one had said anything like that to her before.
He nodded, looking at her. "Yeah.." He fiddled with his hands before Y/N slowly sat up and hugged him gently. "Thank you.." She whispered.
The demon smiled a bit to himself when she hugged him, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye as he gently wrapped his arms around her. "It's okay.." He said softly. By now, Y/N had kind of gotten used to his stench. She didn't let go of the hug, slowly shuffling closer to him.
"Are you okay..?" The poltergeist asked, still hugging her. He wouldn't admit it, not even to himself, but he loved hugs.
"Yeah.." She whispered, her voice cracking slightly as she teared up. Y/N didn't let go of the demon for a while.
Beetlejuice looked down at her, the tips of his hair going a light pink as he softly rubbed her back. He shuffled so he was leaning against the headboard of the bed.
The girl also shuffled, gently kissing Beetlejuice's cheek. "Thank you.." She whispered again as she closed her eyes, resting her head against his chest.
The demon's face went a deep red as the rest of his hair went light pink. "It's no problem.." He responded, still gently hugging her, making sure he wasn't causing her any pain.
Y/N gently held onto his jacket as she muttered softly. She glanced up at the demon, looking at his hair. "What does pink mean..?" She asked.
"Hm..?" He said, raising an eyebrow and looking up at his hair. "Oh.. uh, I'm not sure, it never went pink before." The demon lied.
"Oh.. okay." The girl said, sighing as she looked up at him. She reached a hand up to gently run her fingers through the poltergeist's hair.
Beetlejuice raised an eyebrow as he glanced down at her. He closed his eyes and subconsciously leaned his head into her hand as he heard her giggle softly. He opened an eye to look at her. "That's the first time I heard you laugh.." He mumbled, still enjoying her playing with his hair.
Y/N blushed slightly as she looked down. "Well.. uh, yeah.." She said in embarrassment.
The demon smiled. "You have a cute laugh."
Her face went red as she gently whack Beetlejuice on the shoulder. "Shut up."
He chuckled. "I was jus' tellin' the truth." He grinned.
"Whatever.." She leaned her back against him again and gently crossing her arms, wincing softly. She felt the demon wrap his arms around her waist. "You okay?" She heard him ask. Y/N nodded, her face a dark red.
The demon smiled. "Do you feel any better..?" He asked in a soft tone, resting his chin on her shoulder.
The young woman nodded. "A lot better actually.." She muttered, relaxing in his arms.
Beetlejuice smiled, lifting his head up. "Really?" He asked.
Y/N nodded and looked at the demon who seemed extremely proud. "I still feel tired though.." She said.
The poltergeist nodded. "I'll let you sleep.." He said as he got up, only to feel a tug on his sleeve. When he turned his head to face Y/N, she was looking up at him.
"Can you.. stay with me?" She asked, giving Beetlejuice puppy dog eyes.
He looked at her and chuckled softly, nodding. "I suppose." He said, sitting beside her again.
Y/N curled up next to him, resting her head on his chest again. She yawned softly, closing her eyes.
The demon looked down at her as he gently rubbed her back, trying to help her fall asleep.
The girl felt herself slowly sleep into a deep sleep.
