"Do you hear that? It's coming from the new neighbors. Funky."

Sam observed drinking his beer eyeing me, raising both his eyebrows  trying to convince me to go check it out.

"Dude. We don't even know them besides we have practice tomorrow. I can't stay up late tonight."

"Since when did you got so lame. Like come on bro' there might have booties there!"

He said throwing me the couch pillow.

"You know I need money for my mother's medication plus college. You know I just lost my band and you want me to chill and check booties?"

I respond narrowing my eyebrows.

"My bad bro' I just want you to chill your acting so serious since this morning. Well I heard Mc Trevor's place is auditioning for a band drummer. Dude that's your solution I'll cover and keep coach distract coach for you so you can sneak out and leave early."

He offered.

"I'm good bro' I don't want your sorry as get into me mess if coach caught us."

"Alright. Just chill dude. Don't let this thing's get you."

Sam's right. I shouldn't let this problems distract me. I need to motive my self on being positive.

"Dude. I got to go. Brenda just beep me up. See you at practice tomorrow."

I turned off the TV and went upstairs. Since my dad died back when I was twelve, it took a lot of responsibilities to fill in and my mom struggled being a single parent that lead me to be more responsible on being the man in the house.

I went to bed and turn off the lamp before darkness ate my senses falling into deep sleep.

"John"

A woman called me from a distance.

"Who are you?"
I yelled running towards her but it felt like I was running forever. Soon everything started blur.

"Nate, wake up!"
I opened my eyes as the light from my window hits my face.

I looked at my clock and it was already pass seven in the morning.

"Your talking in your
sleep again, are you okay?
You seemed having a nightmare"

My mom observed sitting at the corner of my bed.

"What's for breakfast?"
I replied changing the topic to ease her worries.

"Pancakes. Let me know if you need anything else."

She said resuming to her house chores. I went to the shower and rush to practice dropping off my sister with her friends in school.

I was pretty much distracted looking back and forth at my wrist watch figuring out if I could still make it to the auditions.
