I couldn't help but giggle as my friend spilt her coffee all over herself.
"Are you okay?" I stumbled out, trying so hard not completely lose it and she mock glared at me.
"No thanks to you." She grumbled and I just grinned in response.
"Hey, at least you'll be warm."
"For all of five seconds." She retorted sarcastically and I rolled my eyes.
"Suck it up Carm, we've gotta get going." She grumbled something under her breath and I smirked and turned around, colliding with another body.
It took me a second to realise what had happened and the guy stood in front of me looked so shocked. It was his expression which set off my giggles as I got up off the floor with his help.
"Shit, I'm so sorry..."
"Sapin." I supplied and he groaned.
"I'm so sorry Sapin, I wasn't paying attention and I just-"
"Hey, it's all good, no harm done and I'm fine." I cut him off, assuring him and he shook his head ever so slightly.
"At least let me make it up to you?" He pleaded.
I was about to decline when I felt a sharp dig in my back and I did my best not to flinch.
"Sure, I'll let you make it up to me." I pulled out a black sharpie from my back pocket and motioned for him to give me his arm. I did so and wrote my number down and grinned at the guy.
"My name's Alex, by the way." He half smiled and I nodded my head.
"Nice to meet you then, Alex. I'll see you later as we really have to go before our boss kills us." He laughed and waved as I dragged Carmen from the shop.
"Dudette, you have so got a shot with him." I blushed at this and realised that for the first time in a while, I had a chance with a guy who was good looking and somewhat nice.
"I guess I have. Now come on before Luce kills us for being late. And I advise that you keep the cardigan on today, you might not be able to tell it's a coffee stain, but it works well with the patterns if you hide the edges." I advised and she laughed.
"What would I do without you, Sa?"
"You'd be freaking the fuck out thinking that your outfit is completely ruined and no one was able to save your ass from Luce's wrath." I smirked and she simply laughed as we got the shop we worked in, taking off our winter coats and going behind the counter as Carm called back to
Luce, announcing that we'd come off from our break.
Once my shift was over, I said goodbye to Carmen and checked my phone to see a text from an unknown number, whom I assumed was Alex.
My assumption was correct.
Hitting the call button, I smiled when he picked up the call after the third ring.
"Sapin?"
"No, the Grinch." I teased and he laughed.
"Hi. I was thinking, how about dinner tonight? Nothing too fancy, just something casual." I mulled it over for a moment and figured that it wouldn't do any harm.
"Sure, where and when?"
"How about Zizi's? It's just opened up and it's had good reviews." I hesitated before shrugging and nodding my head, remembering that he
couldn’tactually see me.
"Sure, though apparently they're like, fully booked for the next month or so." I added on.
