Chapter 6: forgive?

Katniss' POV:

Why does Peeta have to sleepover Finnick's house with us. I wouldn't go, but I promised Annie. So now I have to deal with Peeta, trying to get me back again. I'm not sure what to do. Finnick brought me to his house and then I went home to get my stuff.
"Prim, I'm gonna drop you off a rue's house so you won't be alone." I say.
"Yay!" She jumps with joy.
We get in the car and I drive her to rue's. She is staying overnight too.

After i drop her off, I go over to Finnick's.
"Hello? Anyone hear?" I ask while openings the door.
"KATNISS!" Annie screams and runs over to me and gives me a huge hug.
"Hey! I was only gone for like an hour. Why are you so happy to see me?" I ask.
"Because your my best friend." She says smiling.
"AWW, your my best friend too!" I say giving her another hug.
"Hey brainless." Johanna says with a smirk on her face.
"Hey Johanna." I say back.
"Katniss!" Clove and Glimmer scream.
"Why is everyone so happy to see me?" I ask.
"Because when you ran away, we were all worried that you weren't gonna come to Finnick's and that you would run away again." Annie explains.
"Well I didn't." I say laughing.
"Hey kitty." Finnick says, giving me a huge hug.
"Hey Finnick." I say back.
"Hi Katniss." Peeta says looking straight into my eyes.
"Hi." I say still very upset. I ignore what just happened and we go into the living room and play truth or dare. Finnick spins first.
It's lands on Clove.
"Truth or dare Clove?" He asks.
"Truth." She says.
"Out of this group, who would you rather kiss?" Finnick asks.
"Duh Cato."she says. Cato blushes
It was obvious she was gonna say him. They're dating.
Clove spins it and it ends up landing on Peeta. Greeeeaaatttt.
"Peeta. Truth or dare?" Clove asks. I know he is gonna pick dare.
"Dare." He says. Told ya!
"I dare you to kiss....." Clove, I swear to God, if you say my name, I'm gonna kill you.
"Katniss." She says.

Of course.

I have a feeling they set me up. That all if this was supposed to happen. That when he got landed on, he had to pick dare so that he could kiss me.
"I'm leaving this room. I promised you I would stay Annie, but I'm not gonna kiss Peeta. And so I'm going somewhere else. I know you guys set me up. You want me to forgive Peeta. It's not gonna be that easy. And your just gonna have to live with that. I see you soon. I'll be on the balcony." I say. I walk upstairs and sit outside on the balcony. I sit there for a while until I hear someone come out.

Peeta.

"I'm sorry, that we set you up. I just want you to forgive me." He explains.
"Like I said, it's not gonna be that easy."
"Well you actually talked to me, which makes me feel a little better." He says.
"Peeta I know that Delly kissed you." I say.
"You do?" He asks.
"Yeah. Annie told me." I explain. "But I'm still not ready to forgive you. Not because SHE kissed you, but because you kissed back." I say with tears in my eyes.
"Katni-" I cut him off.
"I gotta go. This is too much for me." I say. I walk down the stairs gather my stuff and stop at the door when Annie grabs my arm.
"Why are you leaving?"she asks.
"It's too hard to be around Peeta." I explain.
"Please, stay?" She asks.
"Anni-" she cuts me off.
"Katniss please." She says.
"Ugh fine." I say I drop my stuff and go with them again.
"Katniss, you have to talk to Peeta. You didn't let him explain. Let him tell u what really happened." Annie says.
"I don't want to make the situation worse, Peeta decided to kiss back when Delly kissed him. I'm not sure if I will ever be able to forgive him agai-" she cuts me off.
"Katniss! He didn't know it was Delly kissing him!" She yells at me.
"Huh?" I ask. Peeta walks in.
"I didn't know it was Delly kissing me. I was talking with a new kid and she comes up behind me, spins me around and starts kissing me before I could see who it was. I thought it was you until I realized it didn't feel like you. That's why when I pulled away, I was shocked to see you watching." He explains.
"I... I don't know what to believe. It didn't look like that. I mean... I don't know. Annie I have to leave. I'm sorry." I say. I grab my stuff and run out of the house before anyone could stop me.

I get as far as the park and didn't realize they were following me. I just sit there. But I only saw Annie and Peeta. Why Peeta? It's too much for me to handle.
"Katniss-" I cut Peeta off.
"Peeta, I'm sorry. But I'm still recovering from what happened, and I'm not sure what to do." I explain.
"It's ok, I understand. But remember,
I would never in a million years, hurt you. And I hope you realize that sooner or later." He says and starts walking away. I grab his hand.
"I'm sorry." I say letting go of him and walking away. He grabs me, spins me around and kisses me. I kiss back, but it didn't feel like the way we used to kiss. I let go of him and walk away. I just want all of this to be over with. I want to forgive him and I want to be his girlfriend again. But I just can't yet.

I run away and go home and sit on my door step and just start crying. I don't think this is fair for Peeta. He needs someone better then me.
"Katniss?" He walks up to me.
"I'm fine." I say getting up and unlocking the door. He grabs my arm. I turn around and our hands intertwine. I look at him in the eyes.
"Why do you like me? I have hurt you for the past 2 weeks, and you still have feelings for me. You don't deserve me." I say letting go of his hands.
"Katniss, your the one who keeps me up at night thinking of hap beautiful you are. It hurt me that you were mad at me, but I was so excited for the time that you would forgive me. And I hope that time is now." He says.
"I'm sorry." I say opening the door. He grabs me and our lips come crashing together. I rap my arms around his head and start ruffling his hair and he puts his arm around my waist. I break apart from him and smile.
"I forgive you." I say. He smiles, picks me up and spins me around in the air. He stops spinning me and starts kissing me again.
"I'm sorry Peeta. I didn't let you explain. I sill don't know why you still like me." I say.
"I don't like you Katniss. I love you. And I love you cause your beautiful." He explains. I smile.
"And your handsome. Now I'll you come back to Finnick's?" Peeta asks.
"I was planning on it." I say.

We get to Finnick's house and everyone sees our hands together.
"FINALLY!" Annie screams.
"You actually let him explain." Johanna says.
"Alright, alright calm down. No need to make me feel for guilty." I say.
"It's 11:00pm. Let's go to bed." Finnick says. "I'm tired.
We lay out our sleeping bags and I put mine next to Peeta. We snuggle until we fall alseep. I have no nightmares at all. Being next to him again felt better then anything else in this world. And waking up to his arms rapped around me, made me feel like I was at home.

And then I realize.

I love Peeta more than anything. And I hope it stays that way.
