Sherlock grumbled as Mrs. Hudson pestered him about going out and doing things.

"Mrs. Hudson, no. I will not go out and have 'fun,'" He said, in a mocking tone and she rolled her eyes sighing.

"You ought to go and make some friends Sherlock, you cant stay with me all the time," She said, placing her hand on his shoulder.

"I dont need friends Mrs. Hudson," He rolled his eyes.

"Look, theres a reason why your mother is having you live here with me, so i can take care of you while shes doing work, and-"

"Shes never coming back to get me Mrs. Hudson, so why bother?!" He hissed, and Mrs. Hudson frowned.

"I just hate seeing you here on days like these. So lonely," And Sherlock looked away.

"You know, you could go to the recent book store they just built up around the block. They have nice little books that you may want to read," She offered, walking over and turning on the kettle to make tea.

Sherlock huffed.

"Fine. If it makes you happy, i'll head over tomorrow," he crossed his arms, sulking a bit.

She smiled over to him.

"Theres my Sherlock. Now, get some rest hun," She patted his back, and Sherlock nodded, walking out and heading upstairs to his room.

***

As Sherlock woke up that morning, he sighed a bit, just a tiny bit excited that he had actually had plans to do something.

He put on something nice, and grabbed his satchel, pushing some money and his laptop into it, and then headed out.

As he walked around the corner, he stopped by a smalm coffee shop, getting a cup, and then heading into the nearby library Mrs. Hudson had talked about.

As he entered, a whiff of the newly placed books smell hit his nose.

Books had always had that smell. The thin paper fragrance with the knewly printed ink. It made Sherlock feel a little home.

He walked over to a table, and set his coffee down with his satchel, and began to roam the books section.

He walked down the science section, seeing all kinds of books, when a movement caught his eye.

Across the walkway, and into the next section over, stood a short boy with light hair, skimming through the fantasy section.

Sherlock snickered a bit, before seeing the boy look at him, and Sherlock quickly looked away, down at the other science books.

The boy frowned at Sherlock, and turned to look at the book he was looking at, and took it in his hands to read the back.

He chuckled a bit at the book, and Sherlock felt his spine tingle. The boys giggle was slightly endearing.

Sherlock glanced over to him, not particularly moving his head, but looking at him from the corner of his eye.

The boy continued to scroll through the fantasy area, before picking up another book an reading the back, before gripping it, and walking further down, and then turned a corner.

Sherlocks eyes followed his back until he turned the corner, and Sherlock swallowed.

He grabbed the book he was looking at, and walked down the next section back to see the boy skimming through more books, grabbing another.

Sherlock put himself in a corner, watching the boy intently as he flipped through a book, before gripping it to, and walking away.

As the boy turned the corner and walked down the walkway, Sherlock slowly followed after, before losing the boy.
