Two Tales - 1

"So, what are we gonna do now?"

"We need to scan our memories. Diode might have done something weird. We can't take any risk! C'mon, let's go to my base."

"Woohoo, gonna enjoy it!" Charles.

"Just shut up and enter!"

Both of them enter into a portal to the base.

"Charles! I'm going to do it first. You will record everything with that button!"

"Ok Mary! At your service."

Gwen lies on the bed with her forehead connected to the Memory Encryptor. Charles sits quietly, watching and recording her thoughts. 

The screen shows the dream Diode showed her the Library, riddles and ice cream vendor.

"I wish I could know what she thinks. Should I peak into her thoughts? Hmm… Don't mind if I do." Charles starts to watch her thoughts after the dream. 

On Earth, Mary is preparing cake. "Yes all done! I hope Charles likes my cake. Also Gwen, she said she likes cakes." Mary entered the living room, "Gwen, the cake is ready! Did Charles ca-... Gwen? Maybe she went back. I'll wait."

On Gwen's Base, Charles starts to look into Gwen's thoughts. 

"I wish I could tell him that I'm not a time traveler, nor am I Mary. It's getting super weird but I need to complete the mission and keep them safe. He may freak out if I tell him I'm not Mary. Sigh." Now Charles knew her thoughts, but stayed normal. 
Gwen's memories were scanned and encrypted. It was Charles' turn. He got super nervous. "Maybe I'll do some other day."

"What! No. You have to do this!" Gwen grabbed Charles and put him on the bed with his forehead connected. 

"Ah. Such a weird guy. Let's see what we got here. Hmm… Library, Ice Cream vendor, riddles and...Memory Vault!? So that's how we got the memories back I guess. Nice. Hmm...I'm not sure why was he acting dumb. Let's watch his thoughts."

"If she is not Mary, then who she is and what she wants from us. She looks similar to Mary but who is she? Should I ask her? No she may kill me. But she said she wanted to save us or something." Charles' memory freaked her out. "Gasp. Oh no. I hope he doesn't know my identity. But how did he know about it? Hmm...Mary? Nope, she can't tell she was preparing cake. Hmm… maybe he has looked into my thoughts? No."

Charles wakes up. "Ah. Is it done?" He stayed calm. 

"Yes, all done. Umm… maybe let's go back, it's time for the cake."

"Oh yes, umm... the cake! Well, I wonder." Gwen started getting nervous. 
Charles continued, "Well, I wonder, what were those, Library, ice cream vendor and riddles?"

"Puff. I don't know, but there is the same Library here, maybe we should check out."

"Ok let's see if we can find something interesting. Mary. So cake later?"

"Umm...yes, later. Umm...gotta go fast." Gwen tried to stay calm.
