Saturday afternoon in the park...

Michael, you have to try out for the football team." I say. "Your arm's just what the team needs to beat Hearst!"

"Excuse me? I don't have to do anything." Michael says.

"So you won't even go to tryouts?" I say looking down.

"Hell No." Michael says kind of angrily he then calms down and looks at me "Look, Alexandria, 'll grant you that riding my motorcycle for the pep rally was fun, but that's about all the school spirit I'm good for."

"You won't even give it a chance?" I ask.

"Don't be that way, Alexandria. It's not like that. You and I both know I don't belong on a football team." He says.

"But, you could--" I say

"NO, I REALLY COULDN'T" he interupts. "LOOK, I'M NOT JOINING THE TEAM. TRUST ME, I'VE GOT MY REASONS." he adds.

"Like what?" I ask.

"JUST FORGET IT. I'LL... I'LL SEE YOU LATER."he says as he pushes past me and hurries away.

Monday after school...

I'm on the football field sidelines, watching the quarterback tryouts with Emma.

She whispers to me. "Think we'll find someone today?"

"I really hope so." I whisper back.

Just then, the crowd falls silent as Coach Bruke begins to address the large group of hopefuls that have shown up."So you want to be the next Berry High quarterback? You've got a long way to go."

"But everyone starts somewhere" Julian says looking at the people trying out and he turns to me.

"Whose arm should we test first, Alexandria?"

"Hm... Let's see who we've got." I say as I take a look at the people in front of me. "Luis, you're up!"

"Come on. Show us that throwing arm!" Julian says.

"You got this, Luis. It's just like Madden." Luis mutters to himself. He lines up behind the centre "Down, X, A, B, up, Hike!" the centre hikes the ball to Luis. He aims and throws the ball to Julian! It sores through the air... and lands ten yards short from Julian

"You were so close, Luis" Emma says.

"This is nothing like in-game... Where's the IRL X button?" Luis says.

"Maybe in the next update, Luis." I say.

"I don't think it's a match, but I'll let you know if we ever switch to VR football." Julian adds.

I look around at the quarterback hopefuls, and my eyes land on Koh. "Koh? You're trying out?" I ask surprised.

"Look, it was a dare, plus I can tackle people here. We gonna do this or not?" She said.

"Yeah, let's go, Koh!" I say.

"You heard Alexandria. Let's see what you've got." Julian says.

Koh lines up, and the centre hikes the ball to her. "Yo Julian. Catch!" she shouts as she throws the football downfield to Julian... and runs after Caleb! "You're not getting away from me!"

"Koh! You're just supposed to throw the--" I begin to shout.

"Oof" Caleb grunts. Koh tackles Caleb hard. He lifts hi head, dazed. Me and Julian run over to them.

"You okay, Caleb?" Emma asks.

"Are you kidding? That was a great tackle!" Caleb says grinning.

"Thanks, man." Koh says smiling.
