Two women – the Doctor and the Priestess, who were in charge of tending the wounded Survivors after the match – stood nervously in front of an unused room in the Oletus Manor. They had finished tending most of the Survivors about ten minutes ago. But, there were still two Survivors left in the room.
"He's losing so much blood..." Fiona Gilman the Priestess peeked through the Doctor's shoulder into the room, "If we don't treat it now—"
"We don't know what would happen if we just suddenly touched him now." Emily Dyer shook her head. She looked behind her, where the remaining Survivors were sitting face to face. "...[Y/N] told us to wait until he's calmed down," Emily told Fiona, who obeyed reluctantly.
Meanwhile, the last two Survivors in the room, Naib and [Y/N], were having a rather one-sided conversation.
"I-I didn't... I didn't know she was going to—I didn't pay attention," Naib mumbled while watching his left hand stroking his right hand repeatedly, "I didn't realize she had gone to a different direction. I could have—I-I should've paid attention. I didn't realize she wasn't in front of me anymore. I could have protected her... if only I had noticed where she was going."
[Y/N] nodded. Naib had been going on and on about how he failed to save Helena Addams the Mind's Eye in the Rank Match earlier. [Y/N] didn't participate in the Rank Match that day so she didn't know how bad the situation was. But, seeing how big Naib's guilt was, seemed like Naib's failure was the reason why the Survivors lost.
"Naib..?" [Y/N] finally spoke when Naib had finished his story. As Naib lifted his head, [Y/N] flashed him a soft smile. "Everyone makes mistakes. I know how guilty you must be. But, see? Helena is fine," she whispered, "Helena knew that it wasn't something intentional. She knew that you tried to protect her. ...You've done your best."
Without saying anything, Naib stared at [Y/N] with sad eyes. [Y/N] glanced at the open wounds on Naib's torso. Almost fifteen minutes had passed since the Survivors got back from the Rank Match. [Y/N] had started to get worried about Naib's untreated wounds. But, she couldn't just cut their conversation and force him to calm down.
"Let's have some fun after this. We can play board games all night if you want. Or maybe you want some sweets? Let's sneak some. What do you think?" [Y/N] offered, "But, before that, we have to take care of your wounds first, okay?"
Naib nodded with a sniffle. His hand quickly went to hold the wound on his hip, as if the pain had suddenly come to him just now. After getting a yes from Naib, [Y/N] stood up to call Emily and Fiona. But, Naib stopped her by pulling her wrist.
"...Don't leave me yet," Naib pleaded.
[Y/N] smiled as she bent down to match Naib's eye level. "Don't worry, I'll be waiting here until Emily's done treating you," she replied, "I'm not going anywhere." As Naib let her go, her hand went up to stroke his cheek.
"Okay." Naib nodded as he held [Y/N]'s hand on his right cheek.
A little surprising for Naib, [Y/N] actually kept her promise. She stayed with him the whole night. They ate sweets together and played board games throughout the night thanks to the sugar rush. It was after they got scolded by Eli Clark when they finally went back to their rooms.
