a/n Welcome back to the "TNS A-Z One Shots" series! I'll still be taking requests for future chapters, so let me know in the comments if you have a pairing or an idea for me!
Updates for this book won't be as regular as the last book as I'll be starting back at school in the next few weeks. However, I am hoping to update 3-4 times a week.
This first one shot is very long (for me), so let me know in the comments your thoughts and whether you enjoy the longer pieces or the shorter ones.

 Piper's POV

Noah's promposal for Jacquie was really sweet. Although I'm not one for big extravagant gestures, a promposal is always really sweet - but they are definitely not for me. Something simple is more my thing.

"Well, that's all the cheese I can handle for one day," I tell Finn, looking up at him. I assume he's thinking the same thing, as he isn't acting like the other guys - who are patting Noah on the shoulder and telling him that they now have their work cut out for them.

"Wanna go to prom?"

What? Prom? With Finn?

I mean, the gesture was really simple - the one thing I've always wanted a promposal to be - but Finn and I are really good friends, I wouldn't want to jeopardise that.

"Never mind. It was worth a shot," Finn tells me pulling me out of my thoughts. I have my answer, but he's about to walk away.

"Wait," I say pulling him back by his arm. He turns around to face me. "Yes," I tell him before leaving to go hang out with Amy. But from the corner of my eye, I see Finn do a little fist bump to the sky before walking over to Kingston, probably to tell him the 'good news'.

Prom is really stressful though, and even though it's with Finn - the self-proclaimed 'master of chill', I need some advice...What do I wear? How do I act on a date? Wait. Does this count as a date? What if he just wants to go as friends? I'm overthinking this way too much.

I excuse myself from the conversation I'm having with Amy and some of the other girls, before walking over to sit down at the bench in front of the cubbies. I just need a moment to myself.

----

I've been back and forth between Studio A and Shakes and Ladders for most of the day, I can't get prom out of my head. It's really stressing me out.

When I see Summer in Studio A practising a solo, I figure that I may as well sit and watch - so that's exactly what I do.

Her dancing is amazing! I've never really taken time to notice how good she is, but now I know why she won the 'Stacy Carpenter Scholarship' and why she got the spot in the front row: I don't understand how Jacquie and Richelle aren't impressed by her, I sure am.

"What's going on here?" Emily asks walking up to me. I assume she's questioning why I've been coming and going from Studio A all day, but maybe I'm wrong.

"Uh, nothing," I try to persuade her, though I'm pretty sure my hesitance didn't help my case.

"Look, you've been working so hard lately," Emily tells me, and I nod. Maybe I'm overworking myself and that's why I'm finding this whole prom thing so stressful. "I just wanna make sure you're still having some fun."

"I am," I promise her. "I actually said yes to Finn's promposal."

Emily seems a little bit taken aback by my confession. I guess with everyone going stir-crazy over prom, my calmness towards being asked to prom is a little bit of surprise to her.
