DESCRIPTION: Noah attends Nationals with the team and gets to watch Henry's solo. (Season 7 AU)

Noah's POV

Ever since the team got to Nationals, Henry has been avoiding me and I'm not sure why. He has the male solo round coming up, but surely that doesn't mean he can't talk to me. I'm here to support him, not to make him nervous.

Piper tried to explain to me that he's probably just worrying about the solo, saying that she gets the same way around Finn when she gets nervous, but he'll talk as soon as he's about to go on stage or as soon as he's off the stage.

I trust that Piper is right, but I just hope that I don't have to go too long without talking to Henry. Just the other day we had been on a group date - cozied up and all - but now he won't talk to me. It's hard to comprehend.

"How do you do it?" I ask Finn as we sit at one of the tables at the café within the venue.

Finn sighs before taking another mouthful of his tea. "I struggle, but I understand Pipes needs the space. I try and focus on anything other than her avoiding me, and then by the time she needs me by her side, I'm there for her."

He makes it sound so easy, but I know it can't be. If it's a challenge for me to not talk to Henry for a day, I can't imagine the pain Finn goes through when Piper avoids people for days on end.

"Trust me," he tells me patting me on the back. "He'll come around and want to spend every moment with you."

I nod and the two of us finish our drinks off - occasionally talking about my tour and 'Legions of Lasers'.

Henry was about to perform, but right now we were watching his competitor - Jonah from Vlad's Dance Academy.

"Noah," says the voice that I had been waiting all day to hear.

I turn around to face him, a smile on my face. "You've got this," I promise as we hold onto each other's hands. "You're going to kill it out there!"

A smile is now of Henry's face, and it makes me feel that much better knowing that I was able to help him calm his nerves and help him smile. Finn was right: it just took some time.

The MC is soon to take over our moment though announcing Henry to the stage.

"Good luck," I tell him, before turning him around by his shoulders so that he could go on stage.

He was going to win this thing for TNS, and the team would be onto the Female solo round - Richelle's round.

After the celebrations of Henry's win had died down, and Richelle had gone off to prepare for her solo, Henry and I decided to head outside for some fresh air.

"You were amazing," I told him before pulling him into a hug, something which he reciprocated.

"Thank you for being here," Henry tells me. "And I'm sorry for avoiding you.

I understand why he was avoiding me, but I'm not sure if he's aware of that, so I pull out of your hug. "I get it. You needed the space."

"How'd you know?"

"Finn."

Henry nodded in understanding of the struggles Piper had as a dancer. "I'll have to thank him later. I felt so bad avoiding you, not knowing if you knew what was going on."

"Don't worry. Everyone gets nervous, even some of the best dancers," the last comment I direct to Henry, making his smile even wider than before.

"I love you," he tells me before giving me a quick kiss.

"I love you too."
