Summer's POV

I knew that breaking up with Henry would hurt him, but it would've hurt me to stay with him when I like someone else. But I'm pretty sure she's taken - at least that's what it seems. She and Finn have been hanging out lately, and Piper seems jealous, meaning they have to be dating. Every time I bring either of them up, Piper is quick to change the subject - as if it is a forbidden topic.

"Do you like him?"

Then she starts doing this weird laugh. And while I'd like to think it's her normal laugh, I know it isn't. This is different to any other time she's laughed in my presence...something must be up.

"No. Of course not."

"Then why can't we talk about Amy and Finn?" I ask her crossing my arms.

"Because it's weird to talk about my best friends being together."

I roll my eyes. There's no way she'd be acting the way she has been if that was the case. If she was their best friend, she would be happy for them - unless she liked Finn.

"Well, since we both can't have what we want, we could hang out?"

"Wait," Piper says holding up her finger. "You like Amy?"

I smile at her, knowing that she'll understand, and she seems to with the smile she now has on her face.

"Let's go get a drink at The Next Steep. I know they're down there," Piper tells me before taking my arm and pulling me out of Studio A.

If she's brave enough to go down and see them possibly on a date, then I'm sure I can do it too. Piper and Finn are closer than Amy and I, I'm surprised they're not the ones dating. Maybe that's why Piper's not happy - because Finn might be moving on without her.

When we get down to The Next Steep, Amy and Finn are sitting at a table in the corner chatting and laughing. This makes Piper stop in her steps and almost turn around.

"Hey," I tell her. "If I can do it, so can you."

She hesitates before nodding and we walk into the café and up to the counter to order our drinks. While Piper orders a green tea steeped at 175 degrees (which I'm pretty sure is Finn's go-to drink), I order a hibiscus tea.

When we get our drinks, we chose to sit at a table with a perfect viewpoint of Amy and Finn. As we watch the pair, I figure I may as well ask Piper about the situation - maybe it'll make me more comfortable to open up about my situation.

"What's going on with Finn?" I ask her before taking a sip of my drink.

"Well, we went for a bike ride the other day, and he complimented my hair," Piper blushes before looking down. "And it was some time on that bike ride that I realised that I have liked him this whole time."

I laugh at her comment. "I think everyone but the two of you knew your feelings for each other were mutual."

Piper seems to get embarrassed at this comment (I guess she's worried she held in her feelings for too long) before asking me about Amy.

"I don't know," I sigh while looking at my cup. "I mean, she was my first friend at the studio. And when I was jealous of her and Henry's relationship, I figured it was because I liked Henry. But I was wrong."

Piper nods interested in what I'm saying. It is nice to be able to talk to someone about these feelings without getting embarrassed. We're both in the same situation, and that makes things just a little bit more bearable.

"Pipes?" I look up and standing behind Piper is the guy who she'd been avoiding. I think she knows it's him because I see her close her eyes and take a deep breath in and out before turning around.

"What?"

He holds out his hand for her, ignoring the fact that she's hanging out with me. "Come with me."

Piper turns to me and I nod - she needs to fix things with Finn, otherwise, she'll continue to feel down. She then takes his hand and stands up and the two of them walk out of The Next Steep. I hope Piper and Finn fix things, at least then one of us will be happy.

Piper's seat remains empty for less than a minute until Amy sits in it. "Hey Summer!"

"Hi," I say to her before having another mouthful of my tea.

"I'm sorry I haven't talked to you lately."

I brush it off. She didn't have an obligation to talk to me, especially when she's busy with Finn.

"I've just been hanging out with Finn," she tells me. The pain increases, but I cover it up and smile.

"I'm really happy for you."

Just as I'm about to stand up and leave, Amy pipes up. "No, no. You've got the wrong idea. I've been helping him with Piper."

I sit further back in my seat trying to process what she had just told me. She and Finn were never dating. Now I feel horrible for not wanting to see her or talk to her.

"In fact, I like someone else."

Great. She likes someone else, and here I was thinking I could patch things up with Amy. "Who?" It's probably Henry, those two have been destined to be together for a long time.

Then she says the one thing I was least expecting her to say - the one thing I had dreamed of her saying. "You."

Now I'm the one smiling. I reach out my hand, which Amy takes and gently squeezes it. It seems that Piper isn't the only one who will be getting her happy ending today.
