Izzy's POV

After Heath went on his "date" with Richelle, he decided that we needed to go on our first date. Although we aren't official yet, this would be the perfect start - if only Ozzy wasn't trying so hard to get in between us.

"What are you doing tonight Izzy?" He asks me as the two of us sit in The Next Steep. He knows I've got a date with Heath tonight (I can't help but mention it to everyone I see), but I'll play along with Ozzy's little game.

"Why do you ask?" I question before taking a sip of my tea.

"Great! We can have a movie night!"

I roll my eyes. We had a movie night last night. And while I applaud Ozzy's efforts to stop me from going on the date with Heath, it's not going to work.

"Sorry. I've got a date with Heath," I put emphasis on Heath's name, knowing how much the name annoys him.

"Just cancel."

Really? Just cancel? I have a date with the guy I've been crushing on for months, and he suggests I just cancel? He wouldn't cancel a date with Richelle if he was actually given the honour of taking her out.

"No."

"Why?" Ozzy asks me throwing his arms in the air. Sometimes I do question whether he is the older one out of the two of us...

"He's the Richelle to my Ozzy," I tell him before letting out a laugh. That comment will be sure to annoy him.

"No! Okay? I'm not having that loser in my house."

"What loser?"

Bad timing Ozzy.

I look up past Ozzy to see the guy we had just been talking about. "Hi Heath!"

The look on Ozzy of pure shock as he loses all colour on face is hilarious to watch. Then he turns around to face the so-called 'loser'.

"Well, hello, Heathcliff."

"Oswald," Heath snarks back. "I'll see you tonight Iz?"

I nod a smile coming to my face. "Yeah!"

As soon as Heath leaves, Ozzy turns back to me. "'Iz'? Who does he think he is?"

Of course Ozzy has a problem with Heath giving me a nickname. He just needs to grow up and back off.

I stand up, leaving my mug on the table and picking up my bag. "Bye Ozzy."

I'm sick of Ozzy treating Heath so badly - and judging me for my relationship with him. Ozzy just needs to put his petty rivalry with Heath behind him and accept that Heath is someone important to me.

--

Heath and I meet up at the front of the studio. We decided on having our date at The Next Steep, since it's somewhere that we are familiar and comfortable with, plus it's not too far away from where we both live.

"Which table do you want to sit at?" Heath asks as we walk through the doors of the usually busy café, tonight it's nice and quiet - just how I wanted it.

"Maybe that one?" I suggest pointing to the table near the couches. I wouldn't want to sit at the couches - that'd be super uncomfortable, especially when you're trying to eat and drink.

"Sure," Heath says taking my hand in his and pulling me over to the table. The action throwing around the butterflies in my stomach. I've never been one of those girls who get all jittery about a guy, but there's something about Heath that makes me feel nervous and special.

We sit down for a few minutes figuring out what we are going to have before Heath stands up and goes to order for us. While I sit alone at our table, my phone lights up with a message. I quickly check it, just in case it's important, but it's just Ozzy up to his old tricks.

Oz: Tell him your sick and have to come home
Izzy: Grow up.

I'm honestly sick of Ozzy and Heath's rivalry. While Heath can move past it (most times) Ozzy won't let it go - especially now that Heath and I are hanging out.

"A peppermint tea," Heath says putting my mug of tea in front of me, and then sitting down with his tea - which I assume is Oolong as that's usually what he orders when we grab a drink together. "Who was that?" He asks nodding his head towards my phone.

I sigh, "Ozzy."

I'm surprised to see that Heath also seems a little annoyed. "He can't let this go, can he?"

Even though Ozzy is the older one out of the two of them, Heath is definitely the more mature one - at least he can put things in the past to focus on more important things.

"He said I should tell you I'm sick and go home."

We both laugh at the idea of doing that before Heath takes my hand.

"You know, I won't let him pull us apart."

"I won't either," I promise giving his hand a squeeze back. "I wouldn't let something petty like that tear us apart."

"Good."

I'm so glad that Heath could see the funny side in Ozzy's messages and pleas to try and stop us from enjoying our date. Even though Ozzy is my brother - and I love him -, my relationship with Heath means too much to let an overprotective brother and a rivalry stop me from living my life and being with who I want to be with.
