"Audrey! Amber! I'm here!" A loud, unmistakable voice joked from down the steep stairs placed right outside my room. Amber and I smiled an identical grin when we heard the voice and I opened the door in one swift motion. We ran down the stairs and greeted the girl in jet black hair.
"Ronnie!" I yelled, practically pouncing on her with excitement.
"Hey 'Drey!" Ronnie rhymed. She threw her coat down and slipped her shoes off, placing them wherever she felt like. She was that kind of a friend that makes herself perfectly at home.
I looked at my friend; her jet black hair newly dyed and her Foo Fighters shirt shredding at the cut sleeves. She had new plugs in from the last time I'd seen her before she went on a two-week long trip to Los Angeles.
"So how was Santa Fe?" Amber asked.
"It was Los Angeles--"
"Oh, well, same thing! That's near Santa Fe right?"
"...Um, no... but whatever." Ronnie said between chuckles.
"It was fun; I got to go on some little day-trips while my dad was working. Like, I got to go to some record companies and look around and go to some of the music places like that." Ronnie went on. I gaped when she said 'record company', which she saw.
"AND, I got you both a little something..." She continued while she went through her messy bag. Some of her junk flew out of her bag while she rummaged through it.
"For you," She said while using mocking manners. Ronnie had pulled out a very stylish shirt with a picture of Amber's number one role model on the front: Marilyn Monroe. Along with the shirt, Ronnie had gotten Amber a little necklace with several pendants to mix and match.
"And of course, for you," She said pulling out some more gifts.
"OH MY--" I started but was cut off by my own shock.
"How did you get this?! How--" She smiled at me approvingly. I could tell she was proud o her find.
"A not-yet released CD signed by my favorite band?! You're amazing!!!" I yelled, melting over the CDs and, of course, the giver of them.
"Yup. My Chem was around at the recording studio..."
"WHAT?!" I yelled, unable to even image. We fangirled around for awhile before the patient yet musically-oblivious Amber got bored of hearing us fangirl and my numerous thanks.
After Ronnie gave out all of her amazing gifts, we went back upstairs and hung out for awhile, listening to my new CD in the background.
"You should go! You can be socially-awkward with me! Or at least dance with me." Ronnie smiled, reassuringly. Both friends knew how much I love Halloween and didn't want me to miss a Halloween party because I was worried about how dumb I would look. They were right about that. So we played around with my makeup bag, doing our Hollywood horror makeup. Later, Amber and Ronnie helped me with my costume until their mom's called asking for them to come home. Despite our parents protests about how we would "see each other on Monday", we planned to get together the next day and then said our goodbyes.
