>Mataya's Point of View<

I hadn't seen Ruel since Kate dropped us off at school. It was weird seeing him after all this time. I missed him. But he was intimidating now, not like when he was younger. He use to be so sweet and gentle. But I knew he wasn't the same. I couldn't look at him after what he did. He broke my heart and he didn't seem to care. Not once but twice. After my mum died he didn't speak to me. He didn't come over anymore. He didn't ask for half of my peanut butter sandwich. He didn't even wave. That was the first time. The first time he broke my heart. The second time hurt more. It was a few weeks after my mum died, Ruel had stopped talking to me by then. I was in the girls bathroom and a few girls walked in and started talking. I heard them mention Ruel and then I heard them mention me. They were talking about Ruel saying we slept together the night of my mums funeral. That I begged for him. That he felt bad for me. I waited for them to leave and then I left too. I went to try and find Ruel. I knew I couldn't believe those girls, I needed to ask Ruel. When I found him another guy walked up to him and started talking. "Congrats man, hahah didn't think you would do it." I saw Ruel smile, then fist bump the guy "Me neither man ahhah." That was the last time I ever looked at Ruel. For weeks people stared at me, I could hear them whispering. Nothing ever happened between me and Ruel. That was the second time he broke my heart.
I had tried so hard to push Ruel out of my life, out of my head. But sitting in that car, talking to him. All the memories came flooding back.
