Ruel's Point of View:
I could feel her shaky hands beneath mine. I hated how nervous she was around me. I wanted to hug her so bad, to pick her up and swing her around in my arms. She was so small and fragile, she was so perfect. I missed her so much, I never stopped missing her. I held her hand a little and nodded my head towards the bed. She looked up at me, her eyes still a little red from crying. I can't believe I made her cry twice in one day, I'm such an idiot. She shuffled slowly towards the bed before gently plopping down on my bed. I watched as she shly ran her fingers across the material. I sat down next to her and waited for her to shift her eyes to mine. But she didn't take her eyes away from her feet. "Mataya?" I whispered gently. She looked up slowly with a soft expression. She didn't say anything, just waited for me to keep talking. "I know about the rumour." Her face didn't change one bit, she made no expression, no reaction. "I didn't start it Mataya, I never even knew about it till today." Her eyebrows furrowed and her lips parted. "But-" she started to speak. She looked down at her lap confused than back up to me. "But- I heard you say-" I cut her off "heard me say what?" I never started it had no idea what she was talking about. "A guy congratulated you and you agreed with him." Her voice softened, so did her expression, she looked sad again. "Mataya I swear I never said anything to anyone." She loooked up at me. "You did Ruel, I remember." I couldn't help but feel hurt, she didn't trust me. "When?" I asked, I needed to know what she was talking about. "June, something... June 13th I think. Yeah it was the 13th of June." I thought hard. June? June? June? Basket ball? Wait.... "Mataya, was it jack who congratulated me?" She thought for a second, then nodded. "He was talking about me shooting the winning score at the basketball game the night before." She looked so confused. I couldn't help it, I had to hug her. I brought her close to me and hugged her so tight. "I would never do that to you" I whispered. I felt her breath quicken and tears began to fall down my back. "You didn't?" I could tell she was still so confused. "No, of course not" I felt her arms snake around my body and her head dig into my neck. She squeezed me so hard, I felt like I couldn't breath. But I didn't care, I only cared about her.
