Lucy POV

I woke up the next morning to bouncing on my stomach. I opened my eyes slowly and saw my little angel jumping up and down on my stomach to wake me up. Her smile made my morning 100 times better until I remembered yesterday and the anger started to seep through again. I will definitely have to tell Makarov about this. Isabelle must have noticed my change of mood because she flung herself at my face and hugged my neck. I hugged her back and we stayed like that for a few minutes until I remembered something.

"How's your tail? Does it still hurt?" I asked her. She grinned widely and shook her head vigorously. I smiled mischievously and looked at her with a playful look.

"Well, if it doesn't hurt anymore, then that means that I can do... this!" I yelled quietly and started tickling her. She was laughing so hard she started crying so I stopped and was laughing with her. After a few minutes, I smelt Mira coming down the hall and told Izzy through our telepathic connection. About a minute later, she walked through the door and smiled at us both.

"Okay Isabelle, I think it's time to check on how your tail is doing, yeah?" Izzy nodded and looked at me reassuringly, it was funny how even before we had our telepathic bond, she could still read me like a book even if my face was emotionless. Mira started walking towards her and took off her bandages, other than the fur not being there, it looked perfectly healed. I smiled towards Izzy and hugged her.

Later on, we left the infirmary and went to the bathroom to do our morning routine.

Once we were finished, we went downstairs and went to the bar to get some breakfast food.

Once we got to the bar, I asked Izzy to order for me.

"Can you order me two blueberry pancakes and an orange juice, please?"

She nodded and completed my request while getting herself a cup of milk and 1 chocolate chip pancake much to my disgust. I have always hated chocolate and she knew that. When she looked over at me, I fake gagged and she giggled then stuck her tongue out. I smiled a small smile but it disappeared as soon as Mira's little sister turned around, and gave us our food. We both got up and discussed in our minds that we should sit outside since it's a very sunny day but not too hot. As we were walking to the front door, I noticed flame-brain was trying to be stealthy and follow us but he wasn't stealthy enough for me. Once we got out the doors, I concealed our scents and jumped on top of the guild with Isabelle in my arms as we watched him look around for us as we disappeared. After that, he went inside but we stayed on the roof and just talked.

~Timeskip to Sunset~

Izzy and I have been talking for so long that I didn't even realize that it had been hours and the sun was setting. We stayed on top of the roof for a bit longer to watch the sun fully set and then to watch the stars.

"I remember dad saying that mom loved stars so I've made it my mission to study all of the stars and learn all that I can about them. Just like mom did." I spoke into Izzy's mind.

"If you're doing that then I'm going to do it with you! We will learn all about them together." She said back.

After a while of just staring at the stars, Isabelle got cold so we decided to go back inside of the Guild and sleep there. Yesterday was an exception but today I'm not going to sleep. Yesterday I felt safe inside of the walls of the infirmary but now, I don't feel threatened but I feel more vulnerable. Tomorrow morning, Isabelle and I would go looking for an apartment for both of us to live in. Both of us headed into the bathroom to do our normal night routine after I, well technically Izzy, asked Master Makarov if we could sleep here for the night. He, of course, said yes. She also told him about the incident and he said that he already banned him from the guild and that his name was Hogan.

After we were done using the bathroom, we ran into a red-head girl who said her name was Erza.

"Hi! I'm Isabelle and this is Lucy!" Izzy once again said for me.

"Well hello, my name is Erza. You were the one who ate Hogan's flames right?" She said the name Hogan with venom lacing her tongue. I nodded. "Well it's nice to meet you and I have to thank you for getting rid of him for us, we've been trying to get rid of him for so long and now I'm glad he's gone. Also, Natsu hasn't gotten that look on his face since Lisanna asked him on a date." I tilted my head to the side confused. She furrowed her eyebrows at me. "You don't speak much do you?" I just shook my head. "Well Lisanna is Natsu's girlfriend, she was sitting next to him earlier today. She is also Mirajane's little sister. They look almost identical but Lisanna's hair is in a short bob."

I wasn't sure why but when she said that Lisanna was Natsu's girlfriend, it made my blood run cold. It was a feeling that I recognized but didn't get often.

Jealousy.

After our greetings, we all said goodnight to each other, and Izzy and I went off to find a space to sleep for the night. We went upstairs and found a nice looking couch to sleep on. There was even a blanket on the side and a small throw pillow. I lied down and got situated before Isabelle came and lied down on my stomach. This was our normal routine, her sleeping on my stomach while I rested my eyes and listened for any danger. We had to do this so much because we usually slept on the streets that it became a routine that we did every night. At first, Izzy was against it saying that I should sleep and we should take turns watching for danger but I reminded her that I didn't really sleep much so it was fine. What I didn't tell her was that even though I trust her with everything, she was still 6 and was not as strong as she will be when she's older. I never really slept at night as a child anyways because I was always writing in my journal. I have always wanted to become a journal because it was what my mom did. She even passed on her writing skills genetics to me.

It has been about an hour and a half since Izzy fell asleep and I've just been staring at the ceiling during that time. I closed my eyes and listened to the night music that was playing through the open window behind me. After a couple of minutes, I heard someone walking up the stairs in the distance. I didn't worry much because 1. They were going in a different direction and 2. I recognized the scent as Natsu and his Exceed Happy's. He kept walking until he suddenly stopped and started walking in my direction. He kept walking towards the couch where they were sleeping until he was about a foot away.

"Happy, look it's the new girl Lucy and her Exceed Isabelle," Natsu whispered as I heard the slight flap of wings and I smelt Happy getting closer and closer until he was the same length away from me as Natsu was.

"Why is she sleeping on the S-Level couch? Doesn't she know that there is a girl's dormitory specifically for newcomers who don't have houses yet?"

Yes, Lucy and Izzy did know this but they decided against it in order to not go into any unnecessary conversations when all they wanted to do was rest.
The boy and his Exceed continued to talk for a while until the conversation came to an unusual twist.

"I bet they came here because they heard of the great Salamander belonging to this guild. Yup, that's totally it. She came because of me." I scoffed inside of my mind at what Volcano said and I heard Izzy giggle in my mind.

"You're up?" I asked her.

"Yup you know how light of a sleeper I am. It doesn't help that these boys are me when we go to a candy store." I giggled and refocused on the conversation.

"No way Natsu. It's obvious that she doesn't even know you, let alone love you." Happy retorted, to which I almost snorted out loud to.

"Nope, that's not it. She obviously loves me can't you see it?" After he said this, I decided that it was time to make me being conscious known and I flipped him off.

"You were awake?!" Salamander basically screamed at me and I winced from the loud noise. I nodded with my eyes still closed and I could feel his presence step closer to me. He was about to touch me until I slapped his hand away. I knew he was testing me but I didn't like people touching me without permission.

"Amazing." I heard him murmur. I blushed inwardly mainly because I never got compliments, most of the time, people called me a monster. I also blushed though because the phrase seemed oddly familiar. I couldn't put my finger on it though.

Jeez, I've only known this boy for less than a day and he's already making me feel emotions that I have never felt before.
